Am sorry to hear about this guy’s situation. Until the Government/Chief of Police have not re-enforced the criminal laws of Dominica, things will continue to happen. Penalties towards such violence should be more severe, sentencing for such must be longer and the charge amount must be doubled compared to the normal. I believe that the state must finish with that thing they call BAIL because this encourages persons to commit crimes knowing they will be out soon on the streets and keeping in mind these cases take so damn long to call. By doing this persons thinking of committing crime would have definitely re-considered.

How do they know how much the chain is worth? Did they weight it? was it gold-plated? was it really gold?

When I worked in Alaska as a emergency responder, we had the facility wired with webcams, if a crime happened we could look up the time and date and see what happened, I feel that all business owners, as well as those who run guest houses and hotels should have hidden webcams recording the outside facilities 24/7, they could all be wired to centralized servers at police stations, it is inexpensive tech. Most small businesses already have internet, the ones that don’t, I am sure there is some kind of wireless tech. available, you could have webcams all over the towns. Also we badly need some way for the young people to earn some money, every time someone sneaks into a guest house, it spooks the visitors, this is costly, and discourages visitors to the island. If nothing is done it will only get worse until we are like the Virgin Islands where you can’t even walk down the street with out being worried about becoming a victim.

Some people love the easy life of stealing what does not belong to them. I hope no one buys it from him. Take note jewelers and other D/cans.
Here is someone else who should have prayed to God for protection from those heartless thieves who do not care who they hurt and how.
If per chance you are attacked and even as you walk the streets, never cease to pray to God to protect you. If you are attacked, call on the Most Holy Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ, St. Michael the Archangel and your Guardian Angel.
I hope everyone knows that God gave each one of us (whoever you are) a Guardian Angel. We may not see him/her but they are around. What happens, we could suppress them by our indifference and some to God.
Guys and ladies, try not to walk around with expensive jewelry. There are too many desperate people roaming around as the devil, seeking for your personal effects, as if they are hungry and without any means. God will punish them in time.

      Daily Prayer to Guardian Angel

Angel of God , My guardian dear
To Whom His love commits me here.
Ever this day/night be at my side,
      To light and guard,
      To Rule and guide. Amen!

      Prayer to Saint Michael

Saint Michael the Archangel defend us in the day of battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell, Satan and all evil spirits who wander throughout the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen!
      St. Michael the Archangel,
      Pray for us!
Guardian and Patron of the Universal Church,
      Pray for us!
      Prince of the Heavenly Host,
      Pray for us!

Let us talk REAL politics for a second… and realize that crime has escalated in our Nation’s Capital since that constituency switched parties. Is this merely a coincidence? As Labourites, residents of Roseau were doing quite well. Many were prosperous, business was booming and crime was at an all time low. Many, however, got greedy and wanted more. They grew jealous of the Supreme Leader and began despising him for being so loved and wealthy. They decided to punish the blessed Dominica Labour Party by becoming traitors and jumping ship. Now they are being represented by the powerless, most disliked and distrusted Uneducated Wicked People’s political party and what happens? They become poorer by the day, their businesses are beginning to fail, their streets are filthy, drug addicts and mentally ill individuals are taking over their streets and crime is escalating rapidly. Will they realize their mistake and correct it at the next election? Let’s see.

Buy some dental floes and spend some time flossing your teeth, that should help get the stink out of your mouth, clean your hug-breath, if you occupy your time by cleaning your nasty decaying mouth, you would not have the time to write such nonsense, you are a sick living decaying rat!

Instead of always relying on members of the public to give information to solve crime, the Police needs to be pro-active and take preventive action. We re in the Christmas season when robberies are more frequent. The Police need to step up their patrol of the streets from dawn to dusk

It is so sad hearing what happened to the young man of my village, they asked usvto move saying we are mot safe and our village is a dangerous place gor us to stay, some moved, some stayed, today we are in limbo, families displayed and depress, to add insult to injuries see what happened to one of our young man in toseau where they say we will be safe, many are talking about hoing back to our village, I was against it, right now I think ee should all go back and what to be will be. Stealing his chain and shooting him this is evil, even it took the police almost half an hour to come, they pretending they care about us but they don’t, as far as I can see no where is safe in Dominica with all what we want through our children can not even enjoy some freedom in Roseau, whoever did this to my relative their day will come

And your point is? Obviously, the PM is a family man. Where were the parents of this young man? 18 yrs old, 10:20pm on the streets of Roseau, wearing a gold chain valued at $3,000. How did he earn it at that age?

      November 23, 2015

While I am saddened that that man got his jewelry taken and got shot. Do you honestly think a criminal will ask your village of origin before going ahead with the crime? Do you think they ask information on their victims to deduce whether they should let him/her make it? Criminal is criminal. They will do as they please till they either get killed or end up in jail.
