“In a 1991 study, the development of 59 Jamaican children was monitored from birth to age 5 using the Neonatal Behavioral Assessment Scale and the McCarthy Scales of Children’s Abilities. One-half of the sample’s mothers used cannabis during pregnancy; they were paired with non-using mothers who matched age, parity, and socioeconomic status. The results after five years showed no statistically significant developmental differences between using and non-using mothers. The only difference observed was at 30 days of age, when the children of cannabis-using mothers had better autonomic stability and reflexes.”

      and your point is ….

        May 21, 2013

allow me to try to articulate his point to you, cause it seems that you have an issue with clear english. that since cannabis has yet to be proven(unlike many other drugs) to have adverse impacts on ones health or their ability to function normally in society that it makes little sense for a poor country like ours which have so many other issues which need our attention( cash & capacity)to be spending such huge sums to control something which should be decriminalised. and if we are to look at it from another point of view, lets say as a question of developmental economics, a plant which grows as quickly as cannabis and has so many bi-products (textiles, pulp for paper, fibre for rope etc)for us not be looking at maximising our natural advantages. since we already have many on island who know the agronomy of the plant and have experience planting it, all thats need is for infrastructure of adding value to what we can grow….. keep in mind also that we have been having this war on drugs for a few decades now and have spent millions in treasure, man power and countless of young lives however we continue to see a rise in the use cannabis among all sections of society!!!! so i hope this concise explanation gives you better insight and helps you and others to get out of the box and stop playing into the hands of those who benefit from keeping us in the region poor and backward

Would they leave a boat unattended? Surely they would have returned sooner or later. The police should have hidden in the bush, if there is one, to catch them.
Could it be that when they heard the police approaching they hid in the bush? Officers, when you come upon an empty boat as this, you should search the surroundings if possible.

Zoh pa feb, free up the drugs? Tell that to the kids whose fathers never came back from drug run, those who get hooked on drugs, gun violence robbery, extortion etc. Why don’t ghetto children pick up a book and study something. Waste time, give trouble in school and then run drugs because they squander their opportunities.Adults have to tell those kids that they have a special purpose on this Earth from infancy. Stop fooling your children and setting poor examples. You can’t live cheap and smell sweet neither eat your cake and have it.

if its decriminalised and i can have a tree of two legally in my yard or home i assure you that no father, brother, son, cousin would be loss trafficking weed. and i also assure that the huge profits that the druglords are making will evaporate cause they benefit from it being illegal as that increases it value

GREAT JOB,by our Law enforcers. THIS POISON IS TAKING OVER OUR LAND. DO NOT Allow it to kill our generation. No wonder we are having frequent incedences, and a increase in crime activities in that area, they go hand in hand and we need to arrest it now. We cannot allow this menance to society to take over.No WAY!

    • Justice and Truth
      May 21, 2013

All shall eat? Not illegally from the avails of prohibited products. If all of them refuse to seek legal employment is it any wonder some complain that there are no jobs? If they traffic in illegal activities additional jobs will never be created in DA. They are in it for themselves and not to help DA’s economy. They lack patriotism.
