Police say one man is in custody and is being questioned in connection with a killing in Castle Bruce on Tuesday.

The man was arrested at his home on Thursday evening, according to Police PRO, Inspector John Carbon.

The identity of the man has not been released since he is only being questioned and he has not been charged with any crime.

On Tuesday morning 74-year-old Julius Joseph, better known as Edictor of Castle Bruce, was found dead on the public road in the vicinity of his house.

The police say there were wounds to Joseph’s chest and back and he was pronounced dead on the scene by a district medical officer.

Oh that’s the man who was murdered, I was trying to put a face to the name. Oh my…. He was such a nice man, always putting a smile on someone’s face. Some people are so heartless. Rest In Peace sir. And to the family, accept my sympathy, be strong at this time.

RIP Mr. Edictor!!! Cant believe someone would hurt a peaceful person like you. Justice will soon find its way because the C/Bruce born cops in the CDPF are committed in working with the district police to solve this malicious act. RIP Buddy!

    Assertive, NOT Agressive!

I love this picture of Uncle Edictor that is on DNO. He always had a twinkle in his eye. He made me laugh EVERY time I saw him. Just the way he spoke was entertaining. Uncle I don’t know why this was done to. It was such a shock to me. I grew up knowing that people in my family died of old age or the worst thing was to meet their end in an accident. nothing like this.. I just want who ever did this to be brought to justice. You will be missed uncle but the good thing is all our family and your friends have wonderful memories of you that will live on forever.

We are saddened by his death. Will miss him greatly. Always made me laugh and made me feel special. Last fellowship with him in March when we played dominoes as partners at the Islet View in Castle Bruce. It will not be the same without him upon subsequent visits. Your memory lives on uncle.

His face tells that he was a jovial person and one with many more years to live. It is a shame that he was murdered by a wicked person. May his soul rest in peace.

the law enforcement officers may never find these offenders or they may find them and extend a slap on the wrist but my God is able and the word declares that one who lives by the sword will die by the sword… unfortunately for these heartless men ….their days are numbered but before the kick the bucket great grieve and suffering shall come near their dwelling ………i pray that they will come clean and allow the family members of the decease to find some rest as they grieve……

alas..why nuh..why such increase in murders and serious crimes?is it that people dont have confidence in the tainted and corrupt court/justice system in Dominica? Is it because today in dominica its easy to kill a person and within hours you are out on bail.this was unheard of before..is it because or high ranking politicians and friends(including the nations finest legal luminaries)make our courts systems look so incapacitated because they commit such atrocious crimes and no law- not even the constitution and touch them?why nuh man!!???
