I commented on that story when it first broke…but based on what I’m reading from someone …that whilst the young man lay dying or was already dead on the ground his shoes and wallet were stolen,,,if that true…I must admit that,,,things are bad,,,things are bad…I’m left to wonder why would folks frequent such activities….

I use to say that DA is an example of Westindianism and we all can get along. I remember when my father use to move his neighbor animals to greener pastures now we steal our neighbors animals. What happens to us? We seem to no longer believe in the African proverb that it take a village to raise a child.

My first post today, made so much sense, that DNO decided not to keep my post.
Can’T handle the truth I guess.

When I lived in Dominica, disturbances had to do with, too much alcohol, too much weed,
One man sleeping with another man’s woman, but now, technology has changed things around.

When ignorant people can’T handle things like technology, we get results like what happened to this young man.
Technology has brought forth greed, jealousy, drugs, more theft, and now crime.

When you have people taking drugs like coCaine, and crack, then smoking weed, and drinking on top of all mentioned, what do you expect.
Before when you had drunks, or others high on weed, they would never thought of slashing another man’s throat, for the fun of it!

If we find a way to cleanup the drugs on the island, we will have our nature island back; but then again, with no jobs, people choose to sell drugs to their same community people to make a living, to get the technology, they’re…

He looks like a nice person. It is sad he died in that manner. RIP.
A murderer is at large. I hope his conscience pricks him to the point of turning himself in. If he does not, he will be a restless and unhappy person, liable to strike again.
    Law abiding fellow Dominicans, beware.

He shouldnt have to “turn himself in” this was a fete, hundreds of people around, i refuse to believe NO ONE saw anything. if you saw something…call crime stoppers. Stop that thing about “not snitching” cause it mighten happen to you, but to your cousin, or your uncle or you brother’s girlfriend.

They could do so without identifying themselves. There are some people who see and pretend they did not see. To a certain extent they are guilty for not revealing what they saw and inform the police about the perpetrator. Hope someone will do so.

Sad state. Murder is murder but stabbing and slitting a man throat are two different things. In stabbing you can probably get away with manslaughter and claim there was no intent to kill. Slitting someone throat is meant to send fear and a message and used in war and terror. This tells the level of anger and hatred that has engulfed our society. Whoever did this needs to be caught and put away for good. If not they will do it again. We have been down the drains and law abiding honest Dominicans need to speak up and take their country back before it is too too too late. I am afraid it may have passed that point of no return.

We need to change the lyrics of Dominica’s National anthem to, thug life!
    Ignorance of a thug system.

Payee la douce! Mey moon Dominique pa douce!

    Disgustingly shameful!

The ignorance of our people has been promoted to code red!
There’s more to come, if the leaders of our island don’t show support, and ways to educate and help our people, instead of tricking and fooling the innocent people to secure votes!

The government is to be blamed for what is happening in Dominica… it’s a shame a shame, and millions was spent on a bi election. Look around you my Dominicans and tell me what you see for real….. am in tears…. Cecil Joseph of DBS must resign forthwith. How in gods name you could treat your child stepchild what ever relation to u in this in humane manner . Savagery I call this, uneducated slave behaviour…. and you all in management. This Is a joke…..

We need to teach the people C.P.R. [cardio pulmonary resuscitation] I don’t have all the information on what happened , I think if pressure was applied to the ceratoid artery , and proper ambulance response like in the states this young life could have been saved , I am from pte Michel , the people who did that none of them are from my home village, we are a peace full people here in la pointe , I hope the person who did that horrible thing will be brought to justice, Dominicans if you know who did this please notify the police, clear your conscience, and that will help your country deal with this rising wave of crime, tomorrow it may be you or your family, do the right thing.

    November 7, 2016

Why are we still allowing police officers to handle and or move dead bodies? Why has the government not seen it fit to train the fire fighters in this regard and have them remove the dead by putting them in body bags and then transporting them? Better yet, contract the funeral homes to move bodies to the morgue for autopsies after the official death pronouncement by a medical professional. At leas they know how to handle dead bodies.

The way these officers handled the guy’s body is totally demeaning and unacceptable. They moved his body like he was a dead animal and throw him in the bed of a pickup. Where is the body bag? My good lord! We are so heartless in Dca these days its pathetic.

    RIP young man.

So i’m not sure but im hearing that was because the person wanted his shoe? and he looked barefoot in the picture.
I can’t understand why these fellas “on the block” can’t find a job so they can buy their stuff Brand New…but they rather kill and rob someone for their thing they worked hard for. ( And dont turn this into a political topic and say the country doesnt have work, because if I broke and hungry I will break into 7-11 before i kill someone for their “Air Max”)

Every year we get more and more police and every year in these events people die like that. I dont know WHY the police doesn’t decide to shake up those blocks around the area, in Pottersville, Bath-estate, Newtown, Point Michelle. We know what going on on those blocks…nothing productive, just a set of weed rolling, violence , scheming etc etc. Then again, parents have their 15 year olds boys being ‘educated’ by those ‘ hard backs’…what can I say.

he didn’t deserve to die like that nor get handled like that by those heartless police officers after such a brutal death. the police should be ashamed because if it was their family members or one of them they would never have been handled like that.

Yes I Dominica today I listen to matt and people talking about a little domestic dispute between a little girl and her parents… Why? Because of politics… A young man was murdered over literally nothing had his throat slit, and bled to death on the scene. That’s not all of it while the young man layed on the floor people stole his shoes and his wallet! See how we come in Dominica, people don’t care bout you down here. Also the person that do that deserves vigilante justice not no send him prison to get fat off our taxes. ??

i agree with you.. im a supporter of matt,, but why dont we talk about this instead.. about our justice system.. about our senseless killings.. our lack of law and order,,the desparation in our youth.. instead taking beff and running with it.. what them people do with their kids its their business.. at least we have parents still correcting their kids to prevent society from having another child out of control

We have to condemn what is bad and Condone what is good. Dominica is so polarized its sad. Depending on what side we are on politically we accept or reject a particular action and behavior. I honestly think we have sold our souls. If we keep on this path disaster will certainly strike we will have none other than ourselves to blame except the poor and needy who continue to be brainwashed for 30 pieces of silver.

They stole his shoes and wallet? Oh my! Shame! To see he laid dead and they did that? I wonder if it was the murderer who did it.
I like to think God. Whoever it is will bear the consequences of their action.
Their MP and their village council leader, the latter if any, should condemn their actions and that of the murderer.

I agree with you. Is that how the authorities treat an injured or dead person. Where are the medical personnel to treat a person who is so seriously injured? They lift the child like an injured animal putting his body at the back of a pickup. SMH. That is so sad.
Why are young people of this country so taken up by evil?
      This country needs prayers.
