What was the real amount seized?

It is known that drugs in Dominica are often on their way to other nations.

Many of us here in Canada are grateful for the diligence of the Dominican police.

I congratulate the police for their successful work on December 12, 2015. I am especially thankful for the cocaine bust. This is a significant amount that will not reach Canadian streets.

When the police make a major drug bust it is not unusual to find the inventory includes marijuana. This is because cannabis is very much part of the drug trade. People who will deal in marijuana will deal in cocaine and vice versa. Illegal guns are also frequently found. Drug pushers often carry guns placing the public and our police at risk. It is all part and parcel of the drug business.

There is nothing to gain by decriminalizing or/and legalizing marijuana.

      (a) People who produce and sell the weed now illegally will continue to do so to avoid paying for a license,
      and to avoid income tax.

      (b) Underage buyers will continue to buy the weed illegally (from unlicensed and unregulated sellers) to avoid the minimum age requirement if there is one and beat any sales tax that may be imposed.

      (c) People who wish to buy large quantities at a time for trafficking purposes will continue to buy illegally. These are people now who are often involved in other criminal activities and this is not going to change.

      (d) People will buy from the sellers who provide cocaine and the so-called “hard” drugs. So there will still be a flow of traffic to the back street dealers. Marijuana is a gateway drug. Many weed smokers will want to kick their habit up a notch or two in a few years and they will need their dealers.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

right now i believe that it is primitive to make criminals out of people for a natural herb. tobacco cigarette is more harmful than ganja . It is God who has created this plant he is the one you all should arrest if you all can. primitive thinking people. primitive laws . buggery you all want to legalize.

    • December 14, 2015

Do you actually think God intends you to smoke, eat, or inject every herb or plant that grows?

Did it ever occur to you that He put some of them here for other reasons? Did you know there are practical uses for the cannabis plant? Actually, it is being used already for quite a few beneficial things.

Years ago when our governments licensed the production and sale of cigarettes they had no idea how harmful tobacco smoke is. Now it is a proven scientific fact that 50% of all regular tobacco smokers WILL die from a disease caused by tobacco smoke. Now we have governments making marijuana legal. They are at the same place now with marijuana as they were many years ago with tobacco. It shows how absolutely blind and foolish governments are when it comes to certain things especially when there is an opportunity to rake in some tax money.

What we know about marijuana is …

Smoking marijuana can cause breathing problems, and contribute to certain types of cancer.

Smoking marijuana on a regular basis causes damage to parts of the brain responsible for memory and learning. This is especially risky for young people in high school, college, or university and is responsible for a significant percentage of kids dropping out of school.

A relationship between smoking marijuana and radical criminal behavior has been observed.
People who have gone on a binge committing serial crimes of destruction and murder have sometimes been found to be high on marijuana, alcohol, and at least one so called “hard” drug.

Once the worst dangers of cannabis are known it may be too late to shut down whatever industries have developed from its legalization just as it is now with tobacco. Not enough is known yet about marijuana.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist. (Drug Studies Diploma)

#FreeTheDrugs so we can take it overseas and make money

    • December 17, 2015

”Free the drug so we can take it overseas and make money.”

”So we can … make money.” This is the same reason people sell cocaine, heroine, LSD, and all other ”hard” drugs. Don’t you realize that this $$$$$$$$ mentality was reason for slavery :?: It is even now the reason people engage in theft, fraud, human trafficking, and prostitution.

You make no mention of the mental, physical, and social harm drugs do in society. The problems created by drug use are eclipsed by your desire to make money. Either you have no marketable skills or your self esteem is so low you do not consider yourself capable of getting a legitimate job and earning an honorable living.

You have two options. I suggest that you do both.

See a guidance counselor and find out how to get into a worthwhile career.

Surrender your life to Christ! Receive Him as your personal Savior! He will change you from the inside out, and turn your garbage to gold :!:

      Sincerely, Rev…

Cocaine is a hell of a drug! When the young men and women can’t find work anywhere, don’t have a home of their own or a vehicle to drive, can’t help their aging parents or support their young children what do you think will happen? As soon as someone approaches them with an opportunity to make some money – no matter how risky it may be – they WILL jump on it! The poorer the Country gets, the more prevalent the drug trade becomes. Numerous studies have shown and proven the correlation between poverty and the drug trade. The solution, in my opinion, is to increase our productive sectors and to get more of our young people working. Of course, there will still be drugs but there will also be a vast reduction of the people involved making the committed drug peddlers a very, very small circle. When people are busy working they won’t have time to be risking their lives and freedom being involved with the possession, distribution and sale of cocaine. Legalize the weed!!

But, what they mean by “alleged” cocaine and “alleged” weed? It’s either it is or it isn’t. Regardless, please accept my heartfelt thank you for taking these “alleged” drugs off the street. Kudos!

its called alleged cause it has to be tested to prove what it exactly is… baking soda is not cocaine !!

      • December 15, 2015

        This is true.

Much of the cocaine on the streets has been cut so it contains a percentage of baking soda or some other white substance. Actually the content is sometimes dangerous to the consumer’s health.

The suppliers know their customers are fools or they would not be using in the first place so they are happy to take advantage of them and laugh all the way to he bank.

However, the customers know they have been shortchanged when they don’t get the buzz they expected. They compensate by using more of the stuff. This in itself is risky because they don’t know what the content is.

It is a dangerous business. Sometimes when a customer finds his dealer’s stash was trash he marks that man and takes him down. Another danger in the drug trade is the sense of monopoly among dealers. When a dealer finds another dealer is going into his territory and horning in on his customers he sometimes feels compelled to eliminate the competition.

        Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill…
