Did you know that the prescribed drugs and those we buy over the counter causes more damage to people than the Marijuana? I won’t get deeper into it – I could actually provide the facts. But what would it profit me? If they legalized the plant and make it common as any other plant, it would benefit everyone. There would be no need to carry a gun or lose your life while smuggling it or running from the police. Folks would not be able to sell and become wealthy over the grass because it will be as any other grass in the field. It would be a win win situation for everyone.

    • Then the weed would be super abundant.

The easier it is to get the more people would be using it.

On the other hand people of any age could get it.

You could get all you wanted.

There would be no quality control.

Don’t think there would not be competition among the farmers. If they didn’t have a war with the police they would have a war with each other. They would seize the opportunity to export the weed legally or illegally. Competition would rule the day.

None of this takes into consideration the harm marijuana does to the body.

And don’t think there would not be a progression in drug use. People who experiment with the weed would want to try hash, cocaine, heroine, and every little pill that hits the street corner. Have you started having raves yet in Dominica?

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

scaremongering is a tool of the Devil

Every truth passes through three stages before it is recognized. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

I am a lover of Dominica in the USA. . .I have visited Dominica several times and love it very much. I have also visited Jamaica over the last 30 years, and it is a caution to our lovely Dominica. One of Jamaica’s best products (and a religious rite of the Rastafarians) is its Ganja. . .Americans want it, and buy it, and for the longest time it was just a bunch of hypocrisy. Now, the US is finally understanding all the best medicine is from Nature. . .and Jamaica is finally decriminalizing it without worrying so much about the (wrong and expensive) “war on drugs”. Hemp/cannibis is a very good medicine for any number of conditions, and the rest of the plant is edible and usable for fabrics and so forth. On the Nature Island, beware of over-reacting to a helpful and relatively harmless plant. IT IS REALLY THE WHITE POWDERS THAT WE MAKE FROM PLANTS THAT ARE KILLING PEOPLE. For example, South Americans have used coca leaves for generations for energy and stamina, but crack kills.

The gov’t is concentrating only on marijuana in Dominica. They cannot accept that the poor people refuse begging or crying.Their goal is to crush them the most as they can while those that are called the VIP’s in the system sexually assault the poor people’s children. One day of course the ball will turn around..Marijuana does not have any apparent side effect on people like rum ,it is used as pain killers in many countries ,,cloth energizers and day before yesterday a suppository is made for women with it to fight against menstrual pain.stop being so back ward ,we allow the country and the majority of the population to remain poor while politicians live a high life by sucking tax payers money.I personally know many teachers in Dominica who smoke marijuana in the morning before going to school, these teachers are a good teachers .why was it promised to be legalized before election by a political representative before election and the promise was not kept? They only think of the…

You do understand that they are grown for the purpose of selling it to make a mint and to whoever will, even the youths. In the process they carry guns and for what purpose? All these should add up to prohibiting it and keeping it illegal. Concentrate on that.

      • When I hear the mantra “legalize”, “legalize”, “legalize”, it is not long until I hear the chatter about all the money that can be made.

Any product or practice that is harmful or indecent can only be driven by a love for money. People know the commodity or service is risky or improper so they will opposed it until they can be convinced there is money to be made by them and then morals and values go down the toilet.

Shocking that I should be hearing this in the Caribbean! Dominicans including some of rank and those in high places are saying how prosperous the country would become if they were allowed to farm and harvest cannabis. What an industry it would be!

No problem that it would destroy other people’s sons and daughters.

Have you forgotten that it was this $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ mentality that fueled and drove the slave trade :?:

They use those remote areas to grow illegal drugs. Some places are more prone to be used, in places where they assume the police will never find them. They cannot always hide. They will be found and caught.

Dominica! Marijuana is bound to be legalised soon in the western world. Get ahead of the game. This is one thing we could grow well- along with coffee. Coffee is set to be more expensive per weight than gold. Legal marijuana is another venture we should exploit. Nothing wrong with it, no different to tobacco, just another God made leaf to smoke.

    • smdh
      March 24, 2016

You dont smoke the leaf, unless you want headaches and hungry belly. It is the Buds

    • March 26, 2016

Fifty percent (50%) of regular tobacco smokers will die from a disease caused by tobacco smoke. Others will die from second hand tobacco smoke. This is an scientific fact known by most who have so much as done a B.S. in pre-med.

Yet, a while ago on Canadian television I heard the CEO of a large cigarette company say in an interview
that there was NO scientific evidence (NONE whatsoever :!:) that cigarette smoking caused cancer.

We have further learned that cigarette companies have been spiking their cigarettes to make them more addictive.

Because a significant number of adults have stopped smoking due to bad publicity it has been shown that cigarette companies have been directing their advertising towards the younger generation and high school students. This has resulted in Provincial and Municipal Governments in Canada passing laws against many forms of tobacco advertising.

Let God deliver you. Flee to the Lord Jesus for refuge.

The Bible says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are passed away; Behold all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, …” (2 Corinthians 5:17,18)

For a small island nation the amount of marijuana being grown and sold in Dominica is staggering.

I applaud the work of the police. The traffic would be much worse if it were not for their relentless efforts. The problem is being contained and I have no doubt they will win this war when they finally cut off the serpent’s head instead of snipping at its tail. Somewhere there are fat drug lords living off the small time pushers who hang out in the bars, around school yards, and in parks. Marijuana is only the bait. Most of their income is from cocaine, heroine, prostitution, and illegal guns.

It is probable this load of weed was destined for other places and I suspect most of it would have left Dominica over the water. I am a grandfather so you will find me cheering for your drug squad and its allied organizations.

      Fifteen (15) Dislike Thumbs Down!

Every time I post a comment on marijuana or drugs I get a rash of thumbs down. I know most of them come from the same people each time so it doesn’t trouble me. In fact it encourages me because it lets me know (a) people are reading my comments, and (b) the people who are reading my comments are those who most need to hear my message.

In all the thumbs down I never have anybody show me one single statement I made in a comment that was scientifically untrue or inaccurate. This is not surprising because these are pot heads and pushers, not educated caring individuals. Hardly the type of people who would engage in a rational discussion or logical debate.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

      • March 28, 2016

Some of theses same people who give me thumbs down on my marijuana and drug comments have also ridiculed my belief in God.

I respond by inviting them to visit our website http://www.livinghopeministries.ca

then click onto SERMONS and listen to the sermon MANY INFALLIBLE PROOFS as I preached it in a Canadian church. In this sermon I share evidences for the resurrection of Christ which lawyers have said would stand up in a modern court of law. I give you the names of these lawyers.

One of them was not a Christian when he began to research the resurrection story. He intended to write a book about “the historical Jesus” and leave Him in the tomb. Part way through his research he encountered the risen Christ :!: He completed the book and called it WHO ROLLED THE STONE AWAY :?: Subtitled: The Book that Refused to be Written.

Hmm, Doe arrest them rapist and go bush burn weed

    • March 28, 2016

Arrest the rapist and burn the weed! A Good idea on both counts!

Rape and smoking weed. Both are illegal in Dominica and for good reasons.

Both are potentially harmful mentally and physically to those involved.

Both sometimes lead into even worse activities. Men high on marijuana have raped. Some users have gone on a binge of violent crime while under the influence. Rapists have murdered their victims either in a siege of passion or intentionally to cover their guilt.

Both are potentially habit forming. Each has a high risk of repeat performance.

The best treatment for both is the gospel of Jesus Christ. BELIEVE the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 1:16), and RECEIVE Christ as your personal Savior (John 1:11,12) (Revelation 3:20).

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

what for them to focus on is the leaking of documents in the sexual abuse scandal involving the high ranking government officials and the business man, and talk to their other police friends about not tackling little girls get caught in the same mess. Instead they insist on demonizing weed. More and more weed is becoming accepted worldwide. the lies and propaganda about it is now exposed. the old fear and nonsense your parents and grandparents told you about it is now seen as nonsense. Plants will always grow. weed is always smoke one way or another. your war on marijuana is failing and has always failed. People will ALWAYS use the herbs; whether legal or illegal in YOUR established courts of law. But in God’s courts it is not a sin, that is why he put it there; for the use of man. I would like one intelligent person to actually give me a compelling argument as to why marijuana is illegal in Dominica today – apart from telling me that it is classified as a type a drug (which is a lie)

To respond to your words, sexual abuse has not killed anyone, at least not yet. They do not get cancer and the type of brain blockage from it. If money is exchanged for sex, then the police should be involved.

      • March 26, 2016

“Sexual abuse has not killed anyone.”

What about those who contacted HIV and died from AIDS :?:

What about those who became pregnant and aborted the unborn child :?:

What about those who were raped and murdered in a frenzy of lust :?:

What about those who were kidnapped and held as sex slaves :?: Some have been found dead. Others have never been seen alive again.

What about those who have been psychologically damaged to the extent that their quality of life is gone. Some have been rendered unable of establishing a normal relationship. Others developed problems with alcohol and drugs later in life. Some slip into depression. I am aware of those here in Canada who have committed suicide later in life.

You say “They do not get cancer.” Not true. Sexual abuse has introduced some to a lifestyle that has given them cancer of the cervix.

        Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

      Policing is a wide field.

I think we can all appreciate that there are many details involved in policing and some areas of law enforcement are more difficult to work than others.

Caring people are glad the police are having relative success in the war on drugs. They do not need to be badmouthed by those they serve because they are more challenged in some areas than in others. The public is often the cause of police failure. We have citizens who look the other way when they see a crime being committed because they don’t want to get involved. Many are not reporting to the police what they know. Holding back information is the reason more offenders are not arrested.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.
