Sherman Webb, who in 2012 was found guilty of the murder of Barbadian, Corey Poleon, during an alleged satanic ritual will be tried again in the January criminal session.
Webb was given a life sentence by Justice Bernie Stephenson after he was found guilty of the murder of Corey Rohan Poleon of St Lucy, Barbados.
In 2016 the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (ECSC) quashed his conviction and ordered a retrial on the grounds that the judge did not properly put to the jury the issue of self-defense and her treatment of the defense of the accused was quite dismissive.
During the original trial, Webb told the court that Poleon came to visit him in August of 2009 to conduct “an occult ceremony which involved the summoning of a demon.”
He testified that during the ceremony, Poleon became frightened and the demon possessed his body. He said he chopped Poleon on the neck with a cutlass to force the demon to leave his body.
He said he later buried Poleon’s body under the wooden house in Elmshall where they had conducted the ritual after “banishing the spirits.”
In his final statement during the trial the 31-year-old Kingshill resident told the court, “I do not agree that I killed Corey. He was a friend of mine.”
Investigators reportedly found several items of paraphernalia related to some form of satanic ritual at Webb’s home.
Justice Stephenson had described matter as “unusual and unfortunate and bizarre.”

Satanic rituals and murder…this sounds like a best-selling novel…I wonder if Webb will write a book about this crazy set of circumstances. It would be quite interesting to read.

Think of your victim’s family and what this has done to them. It is a life sentence for them. They will never forget their loved one, what happened to him; what you did to him. You have caused them much grief. The sentence should fit the crime/murder.

Some of you may say he has the right to; which is true because he has a free will but should he overpower the other inmates who are already weakened in their spirits?

It is a spiritual warfare. People can only be helped so much. They must have the will to accept it. If they try to rehabilitate him will he welcome it? If he refuses godly spiritual help woe to him.
There is no such thing as a demon and no such thing as a competent Dominica judge.
It is amazing how God supports his children. If there are no Demons then there is no Devil, there is no bad, no evil, no Good, and no God? Daniel, your life is in danger! Demons and demonic forces take command from Satan where as holy angels take command from God above, the father of Jesus Christ and they both along with the holy spirit lead true Christians.

This young boy introduced himself to demonic spirits and as a result lost his life. These things are real! They want you to face the same judgement as them, as a result, destroy you at your weakest!

Regarding demons we have the evidence of the Bible and the testimonies of those who work in the field from psychiatrists to religious workers with a deliverance ministry.
The greatest collection of books in the world dealing with this subject is in the Vatican Library.
The movie THE EXORCIST was based on a true story. Before John Paul 2 took office he watched this movie three times. However, I would not recommend this movie. There are better ways to learn. The best way is to study the New Testament.

There are those who would like not to believe that the enemy of God and of our souls exist and is real. I wonder why they say that? We have the Book of Genesis as proof.
I was new in Toronto at that time. I watched the TV movies, Exorcist I and II out of curiosity. Very scary but strange, I was not scared. It did not affect me.
It is not a movie to show as something which will rehabilitate someone and as entertainment.
Did you watch the TV movie, The Amityville Horror? I watched it. It was something else. It occurred somewhere in Boston, Mass., USA. Some people denied it ever happened.
I told a co-worker I watched that movie. She gave me the book to read. I did not ask her for it. When I commenced reading it, I would not read it indoors; only when I commuted to and from work and quickly.returned it to her. The book is worst than the movie.
I recall those days in Toronto, there were some good TV movies and family ones which we would view. Not today
Witchcraft and murder initially come from the same source and that is Satan. They find access into human lives through the mind and erupt from the fallen depraved human nature we inherited from Adam and Eve.
Sherman Webb placed himself in contact with witchcraft and by being involved with occult practices he made himself vulnerable. Literally he opened himself up to demons (evil spirits). It appears that he was the one who was demon possessed.
Obviously Dominica needs the preaching of the uncompromised gospel from shore to shore and coast to coast, and balanced Bible teaching that addresses every area of life. Instead of a yearly festival of drinking, debauchery, and immorality what would make a difference resulting in changed hearts and transformed lives would be GOSPEL FESTIVAL OF PRAISE, EVANGELISM, AND DELIVERANCE held on different parts of the island the simultaneously.

They could have fun. As it is stated, it is not what you do but how you do it. There are some who overdo it. They also take advantage of the situation.
These things have their time. As we age, our preferences change. We may not appreciate them as much as previously. This has occurred to many people. I am no exception. However, I will not condemn nor judge it.
It reminds me, as a teenager, at carnival time, for the two days of Carnival, we would go to Church and make a Holy Hour, to console the Sacred Heart of Jesus for sins committed on those days. Of course we could also do this at home. However, the Bishop and the Superior, the Priest (the Belgium Fathers) announced it in Church on the Sunday. Those who wanted went to Church on the Monday and Tuesday to pray. The Church was opened on both days until approximately 5:00 pm.
My mother welcomed this opportunity to go to Church for this occasion.
We cannot prevent people from their merriment but we could pray.

Obeah is a branch of witchcraft. It is indulged in by people who want power to influence or control others, or to make things happen for their benefit or for the good or hurt of others. The power at work is
from Satan. It is demonic.
It is dangerous to open yourself up to the devil and this is exactly what happens when you become involved with Obeah (witchcraft). Surrender to Jesus Christ. Receive HIM as your personal Savior by believing that He died for your sins and rose again according to 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 and ask Him to come into your heart according to John 1:12 and Revelation 3:20. That is what this man said. Who knows? Dead men tell no tales. The consolation is, God knows everything. He will deal with this man in His time. No matter what, it is sad that this man had to lose his life – extremely sad. I do not believe Sherman is telling the truth. He should be incarcerated for life.
Dominica does not need a man like this man who murdered someone and is so proud of it he is waving to the crowd.His place is in prison or bring back the death penalty ,an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth.

Not that I support this story… but there is a small possibility that they did, unfortunately he does not seem intelligent enough to perform said ritual.

If he had any knowledge of demons and exorcism it probably came from the internet. Two problems here. (1) Such information is only as good as whoever posted it and when it comes to demons and exorcism there are people posting with absolutely no education or training in the subject.
Casting out demons (exorcism) is a dangerous exercise. In theory any genuine (born again) Christian can do it. But it should not be attempted without preparation. There is a case recorded in the New Testament where the demons attacked the would be exorcists and hurt them. Please read Acts 19:13-16.

The disease is called SIN.
According to Isaiah 1:4-6 SIN is a disease. We are all afflicted. It affects each of us differently. We do not all have the same symptoms. Thankfully we do not all murder.
There is a cure and only one! That is the cross work of Christ. His sufferings, shed blood, and death paid the penalty for sin and will give healing to all who personally BELIEVE it was for them the Savior died. Please read all about it in Isaiah 53:4-6

It is unfortunate this is all over the world. Canada is no exception. There are some we work with, reside near, even neighbors and we may not know.their lifestyle.
I recall working with a woman who, every Friday she would come to work dressed up all in black and with heavy make-up. I suspected she was in the occult.
Incidentally she told me her parents were originally from St. Vincent. They were white people; so was she.
One Monday she came to work with a black eye and tried to hide it with her long hair. I suspected there was some trouble with/in her group. She did not say a word. I had my suspicions about her.
We have to be careful associating with these people.
