Did Dr. Benjamin write this? Where does he go looking for people to treat them? Perhaps in your area. There are mentally ill patients who live in some districts who never get visits from Dr. Benjamin or his team. There are some mentally ill patients who are still chained in their homes. Let Dr. Benjamin and his team do their work – Get out into ALL districts. Do they have a data base of mentally ill patients throughout Dominica?

You are very quick to comment but you have absolutely no basis for your statement. You are attacking the entire community of st. joseph but before you lay any blame you must look at yourself, because you too are guilty. Are you doing anything to help the mentally challenged people of Dominica? It is clear to me that you are a part of the problem.
Have you ever heard that while you are pointing a finger at someone else you have four more fingers pointing at you. Use this unfortunate circumstance as a stepping stone to become a productive citizen to assist the unfortunate and challenged in our community, instead of sitting behind a screen and promoting negativity. Be a model citizen or become one, because if you are not part of the solution process then you are part of the problem

That’s what happens when a community and family fail to look after their own. This speaks to a community that does not care. where are all the churches in St Joseph. No one saw it fit to seek help for this woman? And we take our bibles and go to church on Saturday and Sunday? This is what Dr Benjamin is talking about. Leaving the comfortt of his office in PMH and going in the trenches to seek them and treat them; most time against their will. And you would well imagine that most of the mentally ill persons are unable to exercise will. They are out of touch with reality. The Psychiatrist is qualified to make that decision on their behalf to treat. Dr Benjamin has a comfortable home to go and relax. Instead his professional ethics and sense of responsibility takes him out in the community to help prevent persons from deteriorating and in the process avoid admission at the hospital. Thank God for our local psychiatrist. He cares about the people and his work. I trust that this lady, mother, sister is found and be brought for treatment. Dr Benjamin and his team are eager to help her. We just need a community that cares.
