Al Stephens has been granted bail in the sum of $15,000.
Stephens appeared before Magistrate Gloria Augustus at the Roseau Magistrate Court Tuesday afternoon.
The defendant is being charged with conspiring, along with others, to rob $4,500 from Kurby Thomas and Devin Joseph on June 6 in Goodwill.
During the time of the incident, the defendant was on bail for a previous charge associated with the unlawful use of firearms.
Police prosecution objected to the bail of the defendant earlier this month on the grounds that there were other persons involved in the alleged crime and if granted bail the defendant would have interfered with investigations.
Defense lawyer Zena Dyer made the bail application on behalf of the teenage defendant who has been behind bars for almost three weeks now. Dyer pointed out that police have had enough time to pursue thorough investigation in the matter.
The defendants mother Yvette Jean- Pierre stood as surety to his bail.
The matter will be heard on August 26.
