Some suggestions: First, install more cameras. Second, each village to arrange two plainclothes police officers. (2 groups 24 hours patrol) Third, each village to arrange two police patrol car. (2 patrol group 24 hours). Installing more emergency alarm devices, such as 999 calls, such as the alarm button. Fourth, every village the villagers take turns patrolling, manage their own villages, manage their own communities. Fifth, television and radio, newspapers publicity, be tough on crime, in particular the introduction of relevant laws and regulations. Sixth, the establishment of incentive funds, heavily reward people and organizations to provide clues, and to provide clues are confidential. Seventh, the formation of an atmosphere of all the people against crime.

You sound as though you know something about it. You should be investigated.
Be careful the food does not choke you especially if the money which bought it was stolen. It will not benefit them. The money will soon be finished because it was not earned. This is why they go on stealing. I hope they are caught soon.

“TWO CHINESE NATIONALS…”. Are these Dominicans of Chinese ethnicity you are writing about, DNO? Time to start being more responsible with your ‘classification’ of peoples pigmentation and features.

I am sorry this happened to them. It appears they will have to arm themselves. They must have been watched. Who knows?
Do they employ nationals? If so, it could have been an inside job. You never know. Some employees cannot be trusted.
Some years ago, in Toronto, a man (white) went to the bank and withdraw $10,000. It was to pay his workers. The teller who served him told him to come back for the money. When he did he gave him the money. The man placed it in his briefcase. He drove to his home. When he got to his home, two black young men threw him on the ground and took his briefcase/the money.
He reported it to the police. An investigation was conducted. The result was, that same bank teller, a young black man, called his friends and told them about the man. He gave them details and they followed him.
The police did a quick job of investigating also through the telephone He was arrested. His parents are St. Lucians. I do not know them.

They are heaping eternal burning coals on their heads. One day they will find out stealing does not pay.
Where they end up will be God’s justice for all the injustices that are committed on this earth, as stealing people’s money and other possessions and harming them.
The good that people do is written in the Book of Life – Salvation. The evil they do is written in the Book of Damnation – Hell.

Earlier this year, my Son was robbed by a masked man in the village of Salisbury on his way home from work, the person took his Samsung galaxy which I bought for him, until now no one knows who did it. Young people don’t want to work but live of the sweat of others in this country

Stealing from a child is a shame. It appears to be a habit with them to mask their faces. God knows who they are. They cannot run away from him and they cannot hide from him.
As the saying, the worst is yet to come. Something must really be done about that and the masks.
The government should ban the selling of masks in Dominica and ensure that no more are brought to Dominica. Those who are caught with them should be prosecuted. Worst yet, if they are caught with them and wearing them while stealing. Take it up with your MP.

Good news and bad news. Before I explain what I mean, let me first condemn this act of theft that continues to hurt all of us.
Now the bad news: Bad because things of the sort usually hurt Dominica. Good news: Good because it will take something like this (Chinese being robbed at gun point) to get the police and authorities to do something about law and order that have surely gone to hell the last 10 years

  15. December 7, 2015

When Dominicans start robbing Chinese nationals at gunpoint I see a massive offensive coming from our Police Force in the very near future. The Chinese has been especially good to us, we cannot afford for crimes against their nationals to be taken lightly or to be repeated. As a faithful, dedicated and loyal Labourite with my ears close to the halls of power I can tell you that any Dominican involved in violent crimes against our Chinese friends, investors and partners will face the most serious of consequences. To the criminals that committed this particular crime I would advise you to turn yourselves in to the CID before they find you. What I am hearing from high up in the Police hierarchy is that at this point the persons responsible for perpetrating this heinous crime are considered “armed and dangerous” and a “threat to National Security”. If you are able to read between the lines here, you will appreciate the fact that it would be better for you to surrender A.S.A.P.!!!

    • December 7, 2015

Are you for real Chinese been good to us?, man as soon as you enter a chinese store they start to talk their language and look at all as criminsls, they are selling their inferior goods to us in Dominica, you buy in today next day you return it due to the goods being defective, and they refuse to refund you, even so refuse to exchange whatever perchased, labouroflove, you need to be outside of Dominica to see and experience how Blacks are being treated by chinese. I am not condoning what the thugs did, the rate at which crimes are taking place in Dominica today is a call for concern, this is what the police chief and policemen need to concentrate and focus on, not going in villages and terrorize senior and villagers with sermons, after unleashing tear gas and live ammunitions on them in their homes, also we all heard it loud and clear from the prime minister that no law, no constitution can prevent him from doing what he wants, as the saying goes monkey see monkey do what the PM said

Are the seeking assistance from the public re the incident at a Syndicate as well? I do hope so. And,while I’m not making excuses for the depraved criminal mind, times are tougher and getting tougher. Social safety net isn’t working. Something has to get better. Otherwise the creator help us all.

    • Face the Facts
      December 8, 2015

The Creator will not help if nothing is done about seeking out and apprehending those people in addition to condemning their evil acts.
The Creator’s help will not come that easily and if everyone does not recognize Him and pray to him. Otherwise, there will be suffering for a while, if not for years to come. Nevertheless, the government, the police authorities must do something.
Even though times are hard, it gives them no reason to steal from others and at gunpoint. The message these thieves project to their victims is, if you do not give me your money I will kill you. This is serious.
These people work hard for their living. Imagine if it were you or a member of your family. How would you feel and what would you say?

No doubt there will be a heavy police presence it the Magistrate’s court in St. Joseph tomorrow for the hearing of the Salisbury Martyrs but when it comes to everyday, ordinary crime they are noticeable through their absence. Parts of Roseau have become virtual no-go areas. The bottom part of River street is regularly blocked of to allow drug dealing in broad daylight. There is a derelict house on Independence Street that I would put in the same category. Either the police have given up or have a tacit agreement with the guys who control this business not to interfere. There is no other explanation for this inaction. The street of Roseau are no longer safe, especially after dark and I would urge the police chief to get his men and women out of their shelters and put them where they belong, in the community and on the streets, 24/7.

As the country plunges into abject poverty, so the violent attacks increase.
Dominica has never been so scary!
The police force is largely incompetent and political. Most of these officers are servants of politicians, and not the ordinary man.
Carbon in all his ineptness needs to tell us anout the number of unsolved crimes.
Does Dominica have a minister of national security? Is this person being paid? To do what? When last did this MOO MOO address the DANGEROUS AND FRIGHTENING state of crime on island.

Ian Douglas said the sharp increase in crime is due to sharp development in Dominica. Bondieur somebody need to tell the mal papaille government to slow down the rapid development of Dominica cause cor lava ka twavaille is poverty and crime that is escalating.
I hope the police understand that selective crime investigation and prosecution does not encourage cooperation from the public. There is the fire bombing case ,money laundering, racketeering in ministry, child molesters even in the police force, public mischief by senior counsel.

    • December 7, 2015

The Laws in Dominica is for every one and therefore if the Police need help from us the public it should be for all the unsolved crimes on the book and currant ones but don’t ignore the cries of the same public you are now asking for their help in solving the robbery of the two Chinese persons.
What about what the police are doing to the people in Salisbury you and your leaders within the GOVT have harassed that community so don’t come to us asking for our assistance to do your job.,. We CONDEMN what happened to the Chinese nationals but what about ” US” Mr & Mrs. Emmanuel is still waiting for justice after his home was fire bomb that Christmas morning.

      December 8, 2015

We in Toronto are warned about crimes being committed more so during the Christmas Season. The same applies everywhere else.
It was reported on the News tonight that seniors are targeted. When they leave the bank – ATM and get into their vehicles, someone taps on the window and states there is something wrong with it. They open the car and another rushes and steals their purse. The things people will do to get money. Little do they know, one day God will punish them. If they live long enough they will not age gracefully. They will be poor and sick. When they die, imagine where their souls will end up in eternity.
Crimes which are unsolved are not unsolved by God. He knows them; He saw them. It is a sin to steal from people. They do not ask they steal and they want big money. They attack the most vulnerable people. God is good and patient!
