Two male adults, Elvis Francois of Bense and Ronan Joseph of Woodford Hill, will spend the next two years behind bars after being convicted for theft.
Both men appeared before a Magistrate’s court on August 25.
Police PRO, Acting Inspector Pellam Jno Baptiste said the two entered the residence of a foreign national at Calibishie on the 20th of August, 2016 and stole a quantity of tools valued at EC$4000.
He said the stolen items were all recovered due to the joint efforts of the police officers serving at the Portsmouth and Calibishie Police Stations.
Meantime, in another police matter, Jno Baptiste has revealed that one adult male of Bellevue Chopin was arrested on suspicion for cultivation of 1,902 cannabis plants and possession of 41, 902 cannabis plants and possession of 41,540 grams of cannabis weed following an anti-drug exercise conducted by the Drug Squad Unit of the Dominica Police Force in the heights of Bellevue Chopin on August 26.
Additionally, Jno Baptiste reported that 565 alleged cannabis plants and 247 grams of alleged cannabis weed were destroyed.
This was a well planned move. They went where they knew there were tools to steal. I have a tendency to agree that two years is not enough. Yet, it is two years out of their lives plus a criminal record for life if they don’t already have a criminal record.
We are all sinners by nature capable of such behavior. Such action comes from within, from the fallen nature we all have. Christ on the cross took our place and died for our sins. ”All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6) This means by His sufferings, shed blood, and death upon the cross Christ bore the penalty and paid the price to set us free. Because of this the Bible promises ”Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” (Acts 16:31) The Bible says ”For sin shall not have dominion over you: …” (Romans 6:14)

You guys give Dominicans a bad name.
They must be taught a lesson. Keep your eyes off people’s property. Leave people’s.
property alone!
This is a good lesson for them.
Judge at least five years, just to soft on those guys
