Police have taken two 17-year-old boys into custody following the stabbing of a third boy this morning at a school in Roseau.
The injured student was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital for treatment.
According to Police PRO Kenth Matthew the incident stemmed from an argument between the three boys, early into the school day.
Matthew said, “The incident occurred at 8:05AM, when right after assembly the activities of three 17-year-old male students of the fifth form of that school progressed from an argument into an altercation. One of them was wounded with a pair of scissors. He received two cuts to his left earlobe and pinna. He was treated at the Princess Margaret hospital and discharged.”
“The other two young persons were taken into custody,” Matthew said.
one thing in life we always have so much to say when something happens and we can never find solutions to any of these problems that may occur. The only things we find most important are judging and bringin down each other about very little thing, to seem so much better, wen many of us engage ourselves in all the wrongs of life.SO DONT BE SO QUICK TO JUMP AND JUDGE, I AVE AN EXERGARATIVE AN SACARSTIC TRAIN COMBINE WANT A RIDE.
people please tell DNO if its not something to smile about this is not nice if the police know about it why is the name of the school is not on there and the guys name if thay know to walk with nife why cant there names be on there and there pic why keeping there faces from me and my daughter she need to know the problem makers to keep far away from them i know the police can do something about it but the next thing in d/a some time the police just dont know what thay should do when it comes to there work if the big police dont call them in and show off there self on the young police man i do pray that this things stop soon its not TV its the law let the kids be kids if thay dont want to be kids then we got to use the law lets do it its for all dominicans
@ looking at life
This is the Law. DNO stated that they are not allowed to publish the name of the school. There are reasons for it. Those who know those boys obviously know what school. News travel as well. I am also wondering which school it is and the names of the youths involved. I bet if I speak to someone in DA about it, I will get this information but I will not divulge it on this Website.I bet if I speak to someone in DA about it, I will get this information but I will not divulge it on this Website. I will know in time.
Underage youths names who commit whatever sort of crime are very seldom publicized.
In Canada, it is according to the Youth Criminal Act, even though they murder someone. There are times that the names of their family are withheld as well. Only in certain cases are they ever published.
Many of us think as you do that if they can commit crimes or murders, their names should not be exempted from being published but then again, this is the Law as it stands, at least for the present.
To much TV
I think those children are very stupid because they know they will get into Jill but that is my opinion but please WAKE UP BEFORE IT IS TO LATE.
@ Think about it
“Jail”
I remember the days when we respected our teachers and ourselves!!!!
@ LOL
You are correct. Children did not fight with a weapon in school. Something is wrong with those two boys that they had no regard for at least where they were at the time they decided to fight and injure their fellow student. They should receive counseling and rehabilitation.
Doe never blame marijuana because violence happening. Stop talking shit man.
Sometimes the Principals are to blame. They sometimes do not do their jobs.
I know for sure that will not happen in Pierre Charles because the principal there does not joke.
HA! HA! HA! what a joke!
There is no need to blame the principals of the schools. The fact is young people nowadays have no regard for human life. A principal is not responsible for how our young people turn out. Full responsibility rests in the hands of parents. Two boys behaving like shows that their fathers are not around to give them guidance. Stop blaming other people for the fault of the parents.
Again you are stereotyping do you know how many successful and disciplined men of long ago were raised by their little supposedly feeble Grandmothers no father around is no excuse. I am a single female raising four boys on my own and I’m not perfect no one is but do you know the ‘legendary caribbean style discipline’ the belt and that ‘mother look’ it works every time and I get compliments all the time. I live in America I refuse to raise my children the American way. I will take all the good things America has to offer my children and I but they will not destroy the values I grew up in the caribbean with.
these marijuana smokers are making Dominica sick.Dominica is soon have alot of frustrated and mad young poeple on the street.they are smoking too much marijuana.this is the worst drug i have come across because too many children smoking it
The only part of that comment that is true is that a lot of young people smoke marijuana, everything else is pure presumption. Your ignorance of what is really the cause of this kind of violence is more likely to to be THE cause than the Marijuana you are so quick to blame. U obviously have something against people who smoke marijuana. Do u know the boys involved? Do u even know whether they use marijuana??? U sound like u are not too fond of young people.
U blame weed, but I bLame the lack of role models and the abundance of INTOLERABLE people Like you VIP and the behaviours that people like you display for anything that you bear prejudice towards. Always playing the blame game. I don’t like weed so is weed that’s the probLem. I don’t like mister so is mister that is the problem… We have to do better than that people….
If you actually do a bit of research on marijuana’s effects on users, you wouldn’t have made such a statement. There were stereotypes about marijuana users being violent and dangerous and even mad in the early twentieth century, but those were all based on inaccurate research and more often on no research at all. Marijuana tends to reduce violence, not create it–though there is, to be fair, a possiblity of violence between angry sellers and buyers. (I’m not encouraging the use of the drug, since its other effects on the brain are not well-enough understood, but it is wrong to associate it with madness or violence.)
@VIP
What do you know about Marijuana? Marijuana does not make anyone act violent, if anything marijuana makes you very calm. Don’t blame marijuana for people just acting plain stupid.
itss 90% of staff was absent on friday
the principal need to go
@ dominican
Do you know the principal? Why should the principal go? I am certain that the principal had no idea that those boys would do such a thing. The principal does not own their minds and does not know their demeanor.
Let us consider, if the principal was aware that they had a weapon and what they planned to do and did nothing about it, then the principal could be held responsible.
I bet the principal was shocked and surprised at what happened. This obviously caused a trauma among the principal, school teachers and the school children including the parents and family members of those boys who committed the crime and the one who was injured.
Give this a thought. Utilize your good judgment if you have one and think before you comment and make such a statement.
hey i kno all country has their propblem well im a dominican that boast of my country education and the discplinary system is g8 becuse where i live each school has a security guard who will search each child scool bag befor entering the school the schools here the young stars go to school with all kind off weapon stabing each other this were out off hand i hope and pray this dont happen in dominica, parent pray for ur children morning noon and night the devil is roaing like a hungry lion seeking whom he may devour
they do not want to say what school it is but that’s not what is really important now. What is important is the explosion of violence at school. these kids do not fight children fight anymore it is just outrageous. These kids do not belong in school together with ‘normal’ children. They are not interested in education and because the government has no other avenues for them they leave them in school to threaten the lives of innocent children.
these children have murderous intentions and some are psychopaths, drug addicts and dealers and they are among other peoples children endangering their lives. I have experienced it first hand, the innocent children are not safe and the teachers are not safe. these kids need to be taken out of school. The ministry of education does not seem to care because their kids are not involved but is when it hits home we seem to care. By then it is sometimes too late. SCHOOL PRINICPALS, TEACHERS AND PARENTS NEED TO TAKE A FIRM STAND NOW TO SEND A SERIOUS MESSAGE TO THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION!!!!!!
Why is the name of the school important? Focus on the fact that young men are carrying weapons to school to use at the slightest opportunity, and what we as adults can do to prevent such incidents from happening again.
I hope this isnt another fight over vagina. mans barbaric nature has reared its ugly head once more. fellas getting more vile dem last set ah days wi boi
What else is expected…
In a country where lies, corruption, deceit, disregard for laws seems to be an embedded problem, that is the residual effect. Our political leaders, religious leaders, law enforcers, parents, teachers and business leaders are committing, promoting and condoning lawless acts; it is just fitting that our kids are now doing the same.

Some of us calling for prays and advocating capital punishment for the kids who commit these acts are the same ones defending it in adults…
Kids are looking, learning and doing from what the adults do…
i think you mean corporal punishment
love, prayers, patience, discipline…..
eradication of prejudice and class
if it was grandbay allu wud be too glad to put pcss. wat is di name of dai school.
Stop comparing anything that is bad, distasteful and counterproductive to Grandbay..This thing happened at a school in Roseau, not at Grandbay. When will you all people learn!
thats so true if it was Grand bay ,that would be head line,
I WOULD HIT THEM LITTLE NEGRE STEELWOOL HEAD THERE ONE SLAP!!!!!!!
yes i jahhhhhhhhhhh, satan is on a plannn.but he cant win cause god is stronger than all evil….wat skool is it.if it was grand bay u all would put it uppp.say wat school it is so we can pray to reburke da devil from them
This is sad and disgraceful behavior. 17 is not old, no; but it is certainly an age by which a young person can have the common sense not to resort to using weaponry to solve problems, even if that weapon is a pair of scissors.
What needs to be addressed here: what, first of all, was the argument? Was it an issue so severe that violence was likely to ensue, or were the boys acting so immaturely that they allowed a perhaps unspectacular issue to escalate into hospitalization for one of the parties? If the latter, why? There are many possible reasons, from imbalances of hormones to a poor upbringing at home to the boys feeling the need to appear macho, but, with the possible exception of the hormone idea (and it is unlikely, at any rate), there is no excuse for such behavior, and the boys must be held accountable for their actions. They must be disciplined and taught; outside agents must not be blamed in their place, unless, in fact, there was something much larger going on.
Machismo is a big problem in the island, and I think a part of it stems from the message of being macho one can easily find in much mainstream hip-hop and dancehall. The children listen to it and, faced with a society that seems to expect men to be tough and agrressive and on-top of everything, they feel the need to act the part of macho men. This may account, for instance, for the wild way with which so many young men drive on the island, feeling the need to overtake almost everyone and go at absurd speeds on dangerous roads–i.e., they feel the need to be top-dog, alpha male, on the roads. This may not describe everyone, of course, and it is not a problem unique to Dominica, but I do not think it separate from this issue of machismo. This stabbing incident may be another result, if but indirectly, of a society that seems to pride males on being macho.
Whatever the case, let me also add this, which will surely make me unpopular: do not blame demons and devils and satan for this, even if you believe they are the cause. Regardless of your beliefs, what will certainly help the boys is learning why the argument began and teaching them why violence is almost never the way to resolve a disagreement. Let the boys take responsibility for their own actions; if outside agents are somehow involved, let them also take responsibilty, though the ultimate blame must be on the one who did the stabbing. Distancing the blame onto ghosts and spirits does not solve the problem. After all, even those who are religious should be aware of that old adage that God helps those who help themselves; direct action is what is needed in these situations.
bring back siom
satan on the rap page
@ bebe
“rampage”
Remember…our enemy is SATAN and he instigated the entire fight. His mission is to steal, kill and destroy the dreams of those kids and that of their parents. For those of you who have said you will join in prayer please do so as I vow to be diligent. If we fail to act prayerfully, the devil will have a field day with other kids. DON’T ALLOW HIM HAVE THE LAST WORD.
i do believe because of the trend in society the now gov’t should put in place a secutity detail so as to search and confiscate any child carrying weapon to the schools, before it gets out of hand.
and sometimes someone resort to a weapon because they feel helpless…their rival is much bigger and stronger….i condemn every type of violence ….tut here’s something to ponder
if an adult get harassed his attacker will be charged….if a child get bullied nothing can be done about it cause you can’t charge a child( the bully) some people takes matters in their when hands when they’ve had enough it’s time parents start paying for their children’s wrong doing and that will force them to become better parents
Give the name of the school when is on the north you all busy to give it.once is Roseau you keep it as a secret.
DO GIVE ME THAT , WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE SCHOOL, IF IT WAS A SCHOOL IN COUNTRY THE NAME WOULD BE THERE
Go on your kness and say a prayer for the students,so that they will be drawn closer to God instead. It is happening at all the schools,IRRESPECTIVE OF THE NAME, even when it is not posted on DNO.
this things are done for the integrity of the school sometime, this might be the case there.
Well no one can really be blamed for this, but who do the children have to turn to when they are under pressure in school. Do they get the help they need or do they have to take the matter into their own hands to feel better.
Hmm, time for the school to step up prevention and intervention policies. Schools are just a replica of society. If you find it in society, you will find it in the school. Except it is easier to curb at school.
The Ministry of Education has to decide how much money it is willing to invest in making our school a safer and better place. Until this is done, we will continue to have stabbings and killings in our schools. Like it or not, it is what it is. A place where children do not get the support when they need it.
most children are not as obedient because laws have changed ….information is at our fingertips……….. if i knew then what i know now………..i would have put my parent through hell…..i would not remain like a fool and let them take advantage of me….parenting to most people is CONTROLLING their child’s life…
parent are the problem …….parent are the problem…..if you leaving under the worst condition…starving, cold..and you feel like there is someone that love you and listen to you..give you boundaries…then you feel like you can conquer anything
maybe the only way these young boys know of to solve conflict is through violence…something they learned form their parents… hey i know this world is not perfect and some children are just disobedient regardless of the type of parents they have…but if there were more people with better parenting skills …things would be a lot different
Bring back the CANE!! Flog their backside.some cannot even cook a fig,sew a torn shirt;but they talking about ‘my woman’.lette poko soti en nay yo,yo deja major.i say and repeat FLOG THEIR A……IN PUBLIC
Agree with you, as he saying goes Monkey see monkey do, them fools seeing and hearing these things happening in other part of the world, and want to start this rubbish in DA, before this trend cause weeping in DA, them boys need a serious punishment for their actions, putting the blame on parenting to me is not fear, some kids now a days their minds are evil and do not listen to their parent nor anyone, some of them playing mother Mary or priestly at home and outside their parent homes they are devils
so why are they like that you fool……did they grow from a tree
@ i Tiny
Oh please! What else is new? Utilize your common sense if you have any. Those children could have been properly nurtured. Having minds of their own, it is easy for them to commit such a crime at a young age. Those boys did not utilize their common sense, knowing that they are attending high school and are in the Fifth Form, almost ready to be graduated and they may have continued to the Sixth Form they should have thought twice about taking matters into their hands and injuring their fellow student.
They should not have brought a weapon to school. It appears that they had a plan and had intention of using the weapon but why in school. I am not insinuating that they should have harmed him.
Consider also what they have lost, a good reputation and completion of their studies including what they have put their parents in and their concern, placing it mildly. Probably in time, they may be able to complete them. The evil force of the devil took over their heart. Let us also pray for them and other youths.
STABBING AMONG TEENAGERS IS NOT A GOOD SIGN.
PARENTS PLEASE TALK TO YOUR CHILDREN IT
COULD HAVE BEEN WORST. THEY SHOULD PUNISH
THOSE INVOLVE SO OTHER YOUTHS WILL THINK
TWICE COMMITING THE SAME ACT. WE MUST PRAY
FOR THEM FOR GUIDANCE.
Why arent these kids searched for weapons upon entering the school compound. If a student is injured on school premises the authorities can be held liable in a civil action. It is high time that the authorities start meeting their responsibilities, why are there no police stationed at these problem schools. One student was stabbed with a scirscors, but I cant recall that school having a tailoring or dress making class, what was he doing with that weapon on his person, this was certainly premeditated
They should have metal detectors and bag scanners in every school. it is needed BADLY
SCHOOL WAS EATING RECESS IN CLASS AND GETTING BUSTED. SCHOOL WAS GIGGLING IN CLASS WHEN THE TEACHER SAY STOP LAUGHING. SCHOOL WAS FUN, FUN, FUN A PLACE TO SMILE AND LEARN. AND IT IS SO
TO SEE WHAT AN ENVIRONMENT OF LEARNING HAS BECOME. A SCENE OF CRIMINALS PROWLING IN EVERY CORNER LOOKING FOR PREY….
DNO!!!! if a scissors was the weapon used, then why put the image of a KNIFE?
just asking….
and stabbing when its only the earlobe
@ Asterix
Consider that the young boy could have been killed. I am certain that someone separated them otherwise they would have murdered him. Those young boys who committed this crime are ill-tempered and dangerous. I do hope that they receive counseling and rehabilitation. If not, consider who and what they will grow up to be. We have reasons to be concerned about this serious matter.
The angered mind….
WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE SCHOOL SO I WOULD KNOW WHERE I DO NOT HAVE TO SEND MY CHILDREN TO SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For sure, if it was a school in Grand Bay, the headline would be Grand Bay SS Student or Primary school student, then Dominicans would be posting all type of comments left right and center, not disclosing the name of the school shows the level of double standard and stereotype in Dominica, as the saying goes what’s good for the goose is good for the gander
but grand bay is not a place
@ cow: are you an idiot? ofcourse grand bay is a place? yu must be frum paix bouche.. is y u sayin that
So when you hear hee gass in school now u have to run for your life? Back in the days fights were pure entertainment we.. two kuff and a slap or by de bridge after school.. i miss them days dere…
Cat-o-nine, anyone?
Ah, spare the rod and spoil the child….
20years jail for you….wicked bastard….what you gonna do if you have 5 teenage boys …who are all six feet 15o lbs and upwards….how is beating gonna work then …you fool…beating a teenager? stupid fool…
if you did your job properly as a parent there would be not need for instructing a child at this stage…this is the coaching and advising stage
pray please for our young people
yes me too i jus see a binch of children running and two fellers on a boy………
put the school name so people will know where to send there children to school
@ gunman
Do you plan to go there with a gun? The school is not to be blamed.
Whoever thought that this would happen in DA and in a high school? It is shocking. They are in Fifth Form? They have reached so far and have tarnished their good names. They brought a weapon to school? They had a plan? The Dominican schools will have to prohibit weapons being brought into the schools.
Based under the circumstances, those who injured the other student will not be able to write their exams and to graduate; likewise the injured student if he is badly injured.
Sadly, if this is what Dominica has come to, as in the U.S., Canada and Europe, soon the school authorities will have to place a weapon detector at the entrance of schools.
Since they are teenagers, they may be rehabilitated. It is up to the DA Law how it wishes to deal with them. Jail would be a good idea to make them learn a lesson.
I have empathy for their /family who are obviously shocked and are undergoing anxiety over this occurrence. It may be an under-statement of their feelings. God be with you and bless you at this time and calm you.
It seems to me that you know all about the school, the students, what grade they are etc all the way in Canada where this happens everyday, and we in DA know little, are they from the village of Point Michel, just asking
since you know so much
@ Doreen
Thanks to DNO, ever since I discovered DNO I do my utmost to access it for DA’s current events. I am happy about that. Years ago we did not have that opportunity and therefore knew very little, instantly, what was occurring in our beloved beautiful Dominica.
Would you believe that I have spoken to some people who reside in DA about what I read on DNO and they said that they heard nothing about it, not even on Radio or in the Newspapers? Just imagine that. Is this not something?
In addition, there are people overseas who hear the news before Dominicans. Their family and friends keep them informed as soon as they hear some news of consequence.
I am one who loves to hear and read the news even in Canada. It is a wise thing to do. It pays to keep informed and could also be educating.
Consider when you socialize and in company you hear some sort of news and you are able to provide your comments. Those who do not keep informed and not informed people.
It is better than minding the personal business of others.
God bless you, Doreen!
you act as if this a new phenomenon in Dominica; it’s not. I remember when I was in the third grade (FREAKIN grade 3) when a boy sitting next to me showed me a knife in his bag that he was going to “kill miss H#*&#$” with. When I was in grade 5, this boy made a homemade bomb that he going to “blow the school up” with, and in grade six a friend mine lost his brother to a stabbing in the schoolyard (that was a big story in Da at the time). those incidents happened more that a decade ago… so don’t act all surprised. Dominica ain’t all dat peaceful
when i was in assembly dis morning i see dat…………….
@ Art md
It is so sad that you students had to witness this. It must have had an impact on you. Study hard and well so that you will further your education if you so wish and obtain a well-paying stable job.
God bless all of you students and protect you.
Well, i Attend that school and is Two man that box down di padna… One from fond cole and the other idk. They kicked him up pretty bad, And tried to slit his throat.
why aren’t you posting the name of the damn school? because some schools are being publicised and others are kept secret stupes
It happens at all the co-ed schools. There is no exception. Only that some principals sweep these things under the carpet, and do not get the police involved.
@ sout city shabin
I have a feeling that a clue was given but some of you missed it. I have a fair knowledge which school that is.
Anyway, there is a saying, “Curiosity killed the cat. Satisfaction brought it back.” In time you may know, when the case is called.
u can’t blame parents..cuz u wud b surprised to see students from christian homes behave worse than those from non-christian homes….the students are old enough to know right from wrong…Lord give a helping hand
I think our young people need some good role models to look up to because their parents spend to much time minding everybody business.
this is so true eh . dey sit down minding d neighbours girls while their boys are by no means better
@ papo
They need to curb their temper and to be considerate about the feelings of others. They need Our Lord Jesus Christ in their life. They are too quick to use a weapon over a minor argument.
@ papo
There you go generalizing and placing all parents in one basket, as being one and the same. It is a grave error.
I am certain that it is not every parent who spends time minding the business of others. Be kind!
Dominican christians at home and abroad, this is a call to action. We need to keep our faces to the floor and our knees on the carpet for our beloved country. Obviously, satan has zero’ed in on D/CA and he needs a whooping. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says “If my people who are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven, I will forgive their sin, and I will heal the land” The only effective weapon against that bastard is effectual, fervent prayer. Our kids need us, and our country needs us. If I can get enough interest in forming a 24 hour prayer chains on behalf of D/CA I will set up a new e-mail account so folks can log in their interest. Please add an “I WANT TO PRAY LINE” at the bottom of your comments so I can get an indication of the interest and get the ball rolling. If no one joins me, then I will burn the midnight oil on my one. “One handful of salt can heal the nation”
I will join you in prayer.
I am on in this one. true say. Only prayer can deal with this monster who has come to steal, kill and destroy.
Amen to that,Only prayer can deal with this monster who has come to steal, kill and destroy our nation
I am with you in prayer, lets start the ball rolling.
not just prayer but fasting and declaraton of spiritual warfare on the enemy; b’cuz i have boys growing up i don’t want them to have to go through that ordeal and i kn ow the future doesn’t hold anything easier for them.times getting harde we need to tie our waist for our children future.papa bon dieu don nous la men s’il vous plaît.
dat too long. who have time to read all dat
@ Reasonable….You aren’t so reasonable after all….You should be ashame of yourself! Your ignorance shines brighter than the so called phony characteristic “Reasonable”.
@ Help Us, True words. We all need to start being in Prayer not only for ourselves, but for others, leaders of our nations and our land itself. Hopefully “REASONABLE” can join us in prayer by choosing to be reasonable. Hmm
BUT THEY HAVE TIME TO SEWO ALL THAT?
@ reasonable
If you are a reasonable person you should be patient. If you do not possess it, pray to God for it for it is one of the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit which we must consistently strive for, possess and practice.
We cannot enter Heaven if we go about being impatient and angry with people and also denying them their freedom of right to comment and criticizing and insulting them at that.
Heaven is a place of praise, celebration, love, joy, peace and unity which we to practice while God gives us an allotted time. Have you ever considered that? If you and others do and possess it you will be ever so loving, patient including forgiving.
Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
Count me in!!!
WHICH SCHOOL OD DAT? WANT TO KNOW…. IF IT WAS IN PIERRE CHARLES SCE….THAY WOULD HAVE SAY …IT WOULD BE ON THE NEW & HEADLINE TOOOO
I was about to say that…. If it wass PCSS Goodwill or Grammar you wud see it on full blast i bet it was SMA

Give SMA PAPA Ora et labora is what we represent . What doesn’t break us will continue to make us grow. Viva SMA. stop being so bias it was not SMA.
A school was not mentioned, stop wearing your ignorance as a badge of honour? WHAT PIERRE CHARLES NAME IS DOING THERE.
@ T i agree with you 100%..I thought i saw a school in Roseau. Is Pierre Charles Secondary School located in Roseau? This shows why things are as they are in the country.
i think they should say what school because if it was a school on the north they would the name.
@ ,,,,,,,,
SHUT YOUR MOUTH, SHUT YOUR BREATH, SHUT YOUR STINKING BEAK! READ PROPERLY WHAT THE PERSON STATED… he/she didn’t state that PCSS is in ROSEAU! ou toh sot and its THINGS LIKE YOUR LACK OF COMPREHENSION that shows why things are the way they are! and on another note, this person is NOT lying because if it was really a school in the COUNTRY it would be posted all over the flipping globe! zor toh sot kon kabwit! lolz
@ stupes.. Go and learn how to communicate. You are sounding very deficient in communication skills. It’s no fault of mine, but you are sounding very imbecile.
dis morning boy me a self i was running in my class we…
i support you. that is so true. oh how they would say Grand bay again. like we worst than the others
if it was PSS they would say they would say PSS
These thing happen on a regular basis in ALL the co-ed schools. It’s frightening.
most people should not have kids…i think that every everyone who reaches child bearing age should prove that they are capable of being good parents before being allowed to have kid…. just like those who adopt have tot prove…
@ tiny
Please do not make me laugh.
Any suggestions how this could be achieved and accomplished? From the moment they are aware that they have conceived, I do think that they need to take a course on proper parenting or read a book about nurturing children.
Times have changed. Most children of today are not as obedient as children of yesteryear. I do think that it is a pathetic situation. These are the adults of tomorrow. What type of adults and parents will they become?
how this could be achieved…look at china one child policy…i have some suggestions of my own but….how about mandatory birth control as long as a girl start menstruating…i have a few others but you don;t want to hear them
yea because if your mother had done that then you wouldn’t be there. I totally agree with you.
@ reasonable
I am happy that my parents pro-created me. I am alive and well. Thanks be to God. In any case I have no choice since I am here. Therefore I just have to make the most of it, through thick and thin, until God calls me.
“i tiny” is indeed “tiny”, speaking a lot of nonsense. God has commanded, go and multiply, reserved for specifically those who are married in a recognized church which is blest by God. He knows which church he blest and who He primarily gave this mandate.
Parents must set good examples. Today, “spare the rod and spoil the child” is no longer practiced, thanks to governments and the Police authorities worldwide. This is some of what we get for it:
Some children murder their parents and siblings and their schoolmates and harming them.
Some adults are doing likewise also to other adults.
You know what we sow in words and deeds we shall surely reap one way or the other be it through our comments on this Website to others.
I do think that those two students who harm their fellow student possess a bad mind. They could have murdered him. It appears this was their intention.
How I wish that all this could end. If only people live their faith to the fullest and love one another we would have one happy world/country and happy people. Only God can put a hand when He is good and ready.
DOMINICA SHOULD HAVE A BOOT CAMP AND ANY ARMY OR DEFENSE FORCE TO ENLIST THEM FIGHTERS. IWE WOULD SEE HOW MANY OF THEM ARE REALLY WICKED AND TOUGH.
And we did have a Defense Force that was disbanned due to political reasons
i blame the parents…..
Well Tiny I kinda disagree with you on that one eh,I would not blame the parents, you can train up a chikd to do the right thing but when parents are not around, you will be surprised what children/young people are capable of doing just to impress their peers!
yess i wooty girl i back u up
@ tiny
We cannot always blame the parents. There are some good parents but the children will not listen. They have a mind of their own.
THE PLACE SOME BLAME ON SOME OF THE LAWS. RIGHTS OF A CHILD HOW WBOUT THE RIGHTS OF PARENTS? AND YOU SEE THAT UNIVERSAL EDUCATION THING IT IS JUST A WASTE OF TIME AND BREEDING MORE VIOLENCE IN SCHOOLS.WHEN YOU FORCING A CHILD WHO IS NOT ACCEMICALLY INCLINEG TO ABSORB SO MANY SUJECT THEY MUST BECOME FRUSTRATED AND START TI INSULT TEACHER AND THEIR PEERS WHICH RESULTS IN ALL FORMS OF VIOLENCE AND ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIORS.
It is only our common enemy who is to blame. We should unite in this one. The common enemy “who came to steal, kill and destroy. The one who will stop at nothing to do so. Also use our loved ones to cause us distress. Let us all unite, cleanse ourselves, do what is right, hate iniquities and stand and pray for our young persons and our nations see the comment of Help us .
well children making children no and i child cannot control a child and some young parent are more into the sewo ting and some of them even take their children along with them.
The parents have nothing to do with that. Cuz am a parent too and we alwys talk to our kids, but behind our backs they do wat they want. Pleaz stop blaming parents
dont blame parents. blame a society that has become to materialistic and violent like the west. we have to get back to our old ways. the internet and satellite tv has been a great inventions but they have also introduced our youth to a higher level of negativity
There is a saying “Be careful what you wish for” We all wanted to progress and we did then we lost sight of our values as a society because we wanted to be “hip” like America and other big countries, we scoffed at our beautiful and simple way of life calling it old fashion. We are now paying the price.
“at a school in roseau ” like ppl don’t know!!
ADMIN: Obviously you don’t know how the media works. We are not allowed to publish the name of the school. SMH
Why isn’t the media allowed to name the school?
is there any “law” that says you can’t?
These two old young boys are old enough for Jail….so please do the right thing. Jail them.
These are young men who are obviously on the wrong path. this is the time for intervention. THey need anger management classes and how to solve disputes without violence.
so the knife is the book
so this is the time for the PM and his government to accept Dr. Peter St. Jean’s proposal on teaching before incidents occur.
WE NEED A SERIOUS BOOT CAMP HERE.IF THEY DON T WANT ACCADEMICS WE WILL TEACH THEM A SKILL AT BOOT CAMP
