Police in Antigua are appealing to the public for assistance in investigating the gruesome murder of two Dominicans whose bodies were found in a house in the Cedar Valley area.
The police have confirmed earlier DNO reports that the men are Alix Riviere and Alwin Robin.
Riviere, a construction worker in Antigua, was last seen on Thursday at his job site at around 10:00 am and was reported missing by relatives later that day. Robin, who is the owner of Club DVD Sounds, was on the island for just about a week.
Both men were found lying in pools of blood and were both shot execution style.
According to the police, it is unclear how the men got into the house since there were no vehicles around and neighbours reported hearing no gun shots.
The police have said they are still investigating the circumstances leading to the death of the two men.
The murder of the two has sent shock waves through Dominica. It is reported that Riviere, a past student of the then St. Andrews High School, had recently tied the knot, while Robin is well known in entertainment circles in Dominica.
I may be wrong but i believe that there could’ve been debt forgiveness in that case and not taking lives to escape ones debt.this aint no robbery nor drug related.I challenge the Antiguan Police to bring IN All those persons knew owed Alwin Starting on the Owners of this House where he was found and the list goes On. I would not say that Antiguans do not like D/cans. If they do not, it is in this era of islanders migrating to A/gua. and obtaining jobs including those who are non-law abiding. We do know that people are not one and the same.
When some Dominicans went to Guadeloupe, I heard that there were also problems.
I know some Antiguans. I have spent time in Antigua and I can vouch those who I know love Dominicans. I have never had problems with those whom I know. A few of my Antiguans friends spent vacations with me in Canada. Therefore, I have concluded it is who we are and who we know.
Consider too that people in progressive countries do not appreciate that immigrants are residing in their countries, that they have taken jobs away from them. Worst yet those who commit crimes and atrocious ones. You should understand why people of other countries may be intolerant of non-nationals. Dominica has the same problem with those who migrated to Dominica after disaster struck in their country. You know who I am referring to.

okay this morning the Antigua Observer just reported that 40 kilos of cocaine were found in the house where Alix and Alwin were found dead. also the amount of blood suggested that they were killed where they were found. alix’ s car was found in another area, which meant he was taken to the house.therefore, this can no longer be a “wrong place wrong time situation”.
Have you thought for a moment that the car could be moved to where it was found specifically to confound the issue, thus throwing the police investigation in circles, and off tract?
The mafia the world over usually play it that way you know, and since the Dominica crooks which plenty of Television, and movies, maybe they have adapted the movie rendition and are trying it in Antigua.

He may not have anything to do with drugs, however, somebody was involved big time. Also, we need not blame an Antiguan born national for the murder of these two Dominican, the police should concentrate their attention to the Dominica drug dealers residing in Dominica, originating from the Village of Marigot, the murders are Dominicans, and not Antiguan’s, okay!

This is just too sad. I do not know the young men who were murdered. However, it is troubling that they were murdered and in such a manner. What did they do to deserve this?
It saddens us when accidents occur which sometimes result in death. Based on the manner they died, this one is difficult to bear that two young Dominican men were murdered in Antigua.
I do not know how people could harm others, commit murders, eat, drink, sleep, and go about their business happily. What satisfaction do they derive from killing others?
I view these people as wicked of hearts which are made of rock/stone. They do not have a conscience and do not deserve to live on this earth. Surely they should be tormented by what they did. Those who commit crimes of any nature and murder, the likes of which we never heard occurred in former years in the smaller islands as Dominica and Antigua, are not smart people. They should know that a terrible punishment awaits them for taking a life and worst yet two or more. If only they would give this a thought prior to performing such heinous acts, they would never murder anyone. Woe to them! God has seen and taken note. They will not escape His wrath and just recompense as they deserve. Consider the punishment for living a life of crime and murder.
Lord, Dominicans worldwide who heard and read of this are deeply saddened for those men. We know that it hurts your Most Sacred Heart to see what the murderer(s) have done to two of your children, taking away their God-given precious life, something only you have the authority to do for you give life and are the author of life.
We are deeply saddened for their family who are mourning their loss and visualize how they are inconsolable. It is no easy time for them. Please cover them with your mantle of love, consolation and strengthen them during their time of mourning.
Lord, we ask you to please lead the Antigua police to solve these murders. There are law-abiding Dominicans who reside in Antigua. They and law-abiding Antiguans obviously fear that there are murderers in their midst. Inspire every one to pray that the murderer(s) will be caught soon and also to pray for those families and for their nation that one day crimes/murders will be eradicated, that everyone could live in love, dignity, harmony, peace, security and free of such anxiety and fear.

Greetings. I remember Alex, we attended primary and high school together. “troublsesome Alex” is what i called him, he was always teasing. Then he grew up and became a “MAN”. A man who was an example to other men and boys. He remained in a comittede relationship for over 10yrs, that says alot. He was a brother, a husband, a father and a friend. I am proud of his accomplishments. I say a prayer for his love ones who are left to mourn his passing. His wife, may god give you the strength that you need to get past this, it will not be easy, i know exactly how u are feeling, i’ve been there. To the people of Marigot, hold on, still can’t keep us down. Club DVD did alot for us, but look around and see the potential in the others that are left behind, trust me there is alot of potential in our villiage. Blessings.

one of the problems with execution killings in antigua which a police officer once told me is that a hitman is usually flown in from overseas. so its difficult to solve. most killings of this type are drug and ammo related and therefore the bigwig can always provide an alibi for his whereabouts since the execution would be back on a flight in no time.
it is too sad but i feel this is drug related sadly if you put yourself in dem circle sooner or later it gonna catch you, and i think poor alix get caught up in alwin business , cos nice guy he be but we know what alwin sometimes involve in.my condolence to there family and the community of marigot over on the east coast.

Enough already people. I knew Alwin. He was a regular guy. Irrespective of speculation about his past dealings, I believe he was a good guy turning his life around and became a businessman, striving to make his mark in the Dominica music and events business, for that, I respected the man. No one deserves to be murdered, especially so brutally. Justice needs to be sought for these 2 lives.

I had just met Alwin in SXM at the end of September, while working a concert together. He seemed like a really great guy, so I’m grateful for the time I spent talking to him, joking around about the lowsy DJ on stage..=P and now I know why I never heard back this month. RIP

WOW! Things are so off track in my country and it even hit my family (s). Falcon was a first cousin of mine and his mother Enna was a mother to me. The other young fella who did the crime is also a cousin of mine. Very difficult times.
