Bazil described the killing as gruesome and hideous

Member of Parliament for the Wesley constituency, Ezekiel Bazil has condemned the killing of Brazilian National, Rose Wyatt, 51, on Sunday.

Bazil told Dominica News Online (DNO) on Tuesday these criminals must be stopped and, “it’s time for us to stop them now.”

“It is rather an unfortunate situation here which occurred in the north-east of the island. I want to totally condemn such hideous and gruesome crime committed against any one individual,” he said. “It’s time that our people come to the realization that they are hurting surviving family members and by extension they are actually hurting our own community.”

He appealed to the general public from the neighbouring communities to provide the police with any information that could assist in bringing those responsible to justice.

“I am also appealing to the police: leave no stone unturned…,” he remarked. “We must bring these criminals under control.”

Bazil called on the religious leaders to continue to pray for the community, victims and the perpetrators, “because they all need prayers.”

The body of Wyatt, an hotelier was found about 6:00 pm lying in a footpath which leads to Hodges Beach in an area between Calibishie and Woodfordhill.

National Security Minister, Rayburn Blackmoore has revealed that a suspect is in police custody in connection with the crime.

How dare you say to pray for the perpetrators of such a vile act?
You think prayers can change the fact that justice has to be metted out ?

These crimes should be classified as crimes of treason because these individuals are targeting persons who are investing in the country. It is creating a distasteful and unfavourable outlook on the island as a whole and these criminals should be hanged. The death penalty needs to be reinstated.

DNO, I do not wish to be critical. However, the smiling/laughing picture of the Member of Parliament for the Wesley constituency is not appropriate for this article.
He condemned the murder of the lady. Dominicans near and far are saddened and grieving at what occurred to her and in their country. His picture should be a bit somber. This goes for every one of them who may comment on sad occasions and as this one.
I hope you agree with me.

Honourable Bazil you all guys are genuine politicians, loving, patriotic and concerned. So I can imagine how you felt upon hearing the news.Like you, i condemn this murder, and I am calling on the authorities to step up their patrol in all the villages around Dominica….The number of criminal offences is just too high! This could be a real deterrent to the growth of our tourism sector.I also sympathise with the family of the deceased.!

Condemning it is not enough! What steps are being taken to take the eyes off from the skulls of these parasites? These murderers are not humans, and should not be allowed to co-exist amongst us. Hang em now.

Bazo, take the lead and create a “Public Safety Task Group” and have them patrol the areas alongside the policemen from the various communities. This approach is working to some extent in the UK where there is a heavy concentration of West Indians.

Enough talk, time for action even if you have to go to the PM and have him appoint a couple constables (Conestabs-??) like the old days or special constables for your constituency. Your constituency has great promise to become independent like Bawi merging both tourism and agriculture but security is key. Be wise my friend, action time across party lines (DLP, UWP, Freedomite, Pappyite, OJites, DLM, all hands on deck.

    Assertive, NEVER Aggressive!

These rural communities with isolated beauty spots like Hodges Bay need regular and daily patrols by police with powers to stop and search anyone with suspicious behaviour. It is time for criminals to know that there are patrols keeping an eye on these areas and for the common man and the tourist to feel assured that they can go to such locations without having to worry too much about being alone and isolated. People need to be more vigilant!! The police can probably set up outposts in those beauty spots and utilise some of the eighty or so motorcycles which the Chinese donated in order to provide them with quick mobility options in order to respond when necessary. The police at these outposts should be armed in order that they can respond with appropriate force, should it be necessary. It is time to take back our country from criminal elements!! God bless our country and people!!

Ezekiel, while you are at it, remember there are many unsolved murders in Wesley, including that of my nephew, the son of my sister Marie, and also the murder of the man who confessed to murdering him who was also found murdered!

Remember, Claudette, my former lover, who was found dead with a broken neck, the police concluded she was drunk and fell; incidentally in an area where other dead bodies were found murdered. You need also to ensure that the man who beat my niece, causing so much damage to her brain from which she bleed internally to death. Her assailant escaped to St. Lucia, the police failed to extradite him. The Dominica police is unable to resolve these crimes.

It is the duty of the opposition to urge the government to seek assistance from the FBI and Scotland to resolve these murders, that is the least you can do, and not get involved in useless ramblings!

Sir, it is not only in Wesley.
See what happen to Telie in Castle Bruce.
Up to this moment the police has not done a thing.
They sit in the station and expect i do not know who to do the investigation.
To the person or persons who murdered Mr. Telie do not think its over.

Okay, if know I am the murderer, well feel free to come and hunt me down and capture me, and take me back to Dominica and hang me, for murdering me very own nephew, and me very own girlfriend, and lover woman, and also beating me niece to death.

Come and arrest me for all the murdered bodies that were found in a particular place in the village! For all I know you might be the murderer, evil thinks as evil does!

Your suggestion that (I is de murderer), simply means you are the Wesley Jack the Ripper, you old murderer!

        Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!

One day somebody will catch you in the act and they will hang you without a trial, you little crab-louse!

        Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

I read the persons stupid comments and simply refused to dignify such foolishness with even an insulting response!

Take a good look at the way the person writes; you will see that clown is not even an intelligent person, if the person was they would remember; names of places, people, and things the first letter shall always be capitalized as in “Wesley” he or she wrote Wesley thus: wesley, in all lower, case, or all common letters.

Unless they change in Dominica; in kindergarten, in elementary when I attend the first week in class The teacher was Nicholson Abraham, then his wife took over the kindergarten class, stage 1; she taught me that the first letter in places people, animals and things must be capitalized i.e. Dog, Cup, Londonderry, and Francisco Telemaque.

    *******FORGET THE PRAYERS******

Bazil called on the religious leaders to continue to pray for the community, victims and the perpetrators, “because they all need prayers.”

    …………………………………….

The perpetrators does not NEED prayers!! They just NEED the DEATH sentence!!

Praying for them will not make them a better citizen!
So let’s just forget the prayers for them!!

    -Thanks

You are underestimating the love, compassion, mercy and forgiveness of God which everyone is entitled to. You are even casting it aside and denying criminals the right to God’s blessing and graces, in addition to preventing others from praying for them.
I do not think God is pleased with your comment, advocating non-prayers for them.
Where God who is the Judge is concerned, criminals should also be prayed for. In so doing, crimes, especially vicious ones which lead to victims’ murders could be eliminated from the nation. Think also of the future generation and Dominica’s future.

Remember when Our Lord Jesus Christ was dying on the Cross and what He said to one of the thieves?
He is called the Good Thief because of what he stated to the other thief and then said to Our Lord: “Jesus, remember me when you come into Your Kingdom.” Our Lord replied: “This day you will be with Me in Paradise.”
A prayer was composed to the Good Thief. I got a copy of it.
As saddened as we are about what occurred to the lady, never deny people the grace of God. You will be doing them a holy service and save your soul.
We will never know that if the lady were alive, she could have asked for the murderer’s forgiveness.

Hebrews 12:15 – See to it that no one be deprived of the grace of God.

If the perpetrator is caught, I endorse appropriate punishment/sentence for that person with no bail and parole unless rehabilitated. The murderer must pay for this crime and dues to the Dominican society.
Faith, hope and trust. Pray with a good heart and leave the rest to God
