
The Capuchin Cultural Group is set to travel to Guadeloupe today (Tuesday) to take part in a Quadrille Festival carded for June 16th- 20th , President of the Dominica Guadeloupe Association, Maymont Paul has revealed.
Paul who was speaking to Dominica News Online (DNO) during an interview on Tuesday said the group will be promoting Dominica’s culture during the festival.
He said the association’s aim is to promote Dominica’s culture in Guadeloupe.
“This afternoon the Capuchin Cultural Group is going to Guadeloupe, they will take part in a quadrille festival from the 16th to 20th of June and we are glad that we can invite our group from Dominica to portray and showcase our culture…,” he stated. “The aim is to promote Dominica’s culture in Guadeloupe.”
According to him, groups from Martinique and Marie-Galante will also be performing at the festival.
“We are asking our nationals in Guadeloupe to come to support the cultural group,” he urged.
He said there are other activities in place organized by the association to continue to promote the island’s culture.
Paul revealed that a group from Guadeloupe plans to visit Dominica to also showcase their country’s culture.
