Loud, your comment on the PRO is not fair to Carnival Corner ( CC ) as the did not have a Band on the road, What you saw was Karnival Korner ( KK ) which is not under the management of ( CC).

Hey, but what’s up with the pressing of hysteria band? The people pay their 400+ dollars to jump and enjoy their band, and because they were playing alot of soca, artist all over crying that down. Well all the artist who wanna make money in the country, and want locals to support local, should give lyrics and content a thought for a little bit, give the music a marketable meaning and let the Riddim drive the people mahn!!!!

but that’s all I gotta say about that

BEAU BOIS PRE-SCHOOL: THE OLD LADY & THE SHOE – Seriously what rubbish is this? That was the ugliest thing in the parade. It’s always one set who know people that know people. When will this none sense end? It’s high time that these events are judged fairly, with favoritism to none.

When Dice sang, “it is time for change”, little did he know, he was singing about himself. First, they took his calypso crown, now, his road match crown, politics, politics, politics. According to Alix, if you are not red, you are dead.

Congratulations to the young people. I admire that BWA BWA group. It would be interesting to hear what the PRO of Carnival Corner has to say this year. He was properly put in his place, I like that. Keep doing what you do Africulture. You all really deserve your winnings.

Africulture stilt walkers is not a band. I do not agree with that 1st place and that is my opinion.

According to the Macmillan Dictionary a “Band” is defined as a group of people who do something together or who share a particular feature or interest.

The stilt walkers continue to amaze the public every Carnival and at the same time they are keeping the art form of stilt walking alive. The same way all the other bands put on a costume, revel in the streets and compete for 1st place, hoping that they have the best design is the same thing the stilt walkers are doing. So they most definitely do qualify to stand in the same grouping as all the others.

This year the judges felt the Bwa Bwa deserved Band of the Year and King and Queen of the Bands and I certainly agree.

Stop with the negativity towards the young people. Let them be.

Once again another year of big disrespect and absolutely no recognition for electronic/bouyon bands in Dominica’s carnival..what a shame again..
why is the road march title only among calypso songs?
why isn’t there a category for bouyon roadmarch?
why no award for first ecectronic band on the road for jouvert like there is for lapo kabwit?
why no award for best electronic/bouyon band on the road?
why no award for electronic/bouyon band of the year?
why no award for best electronic jouvert band?
Come on piper and the rest of the organizers, it’s about time u guys start showing some respect to the electronic bands in dominica and give those guys some kind of incentive to do what they do to make Dominicas carnival so spontaneous as it’s so famously dubbed..where would it be without them..i wonder what would happen if they decide to strike one year..i guess you would have pan and lapo kabwit all day and for costume and t-shirt too..hmm..please give the bands some credit..it’s…

      February 24, 2015

Well, if the electronic bands strike one year, I am one carnival lover who will definitely NOT MISS THEM.

    • True
      February 24, 2015

organize your own bouyon carnival nuh,we never give them anything before, this is a calypso thing man.

    • Not a herd follower
      February 24, 2015

They don’t belong in the carnival! We are promoting a traditional carnival, that is our brand. Second, more calypsos sought to be played, less of that loud noise.

    • Kaiso
      February 24, 2015

And that is exactly what I what want them to do: strike. ToO much violence with the involvement of electronic bands. The murder at carnival time took place in an electronic band not a lapo or high fi system. HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOO 8)

      February 24, 2015

If you know history u would know that road march is about calypso. And jou overt is suppose to be about lapo kabwit and pan. High fye bands should not be in jou overt

      February 25, 2015

Cause Bouyon have no place in our carnival 8-O

    • evolution
      February 25, 2015

You are exactly right…but we will only start to appreciate bouyon when it leaves Dominica like cadence and evolve, when other countries begin to make money on what we invent. Then is when we will appreciate it in carnival. Carnival has always evolved. Carnival wasn’t always about calypso. It used to be about lapo kabuit and sensa. Now it is about costume bands. Notice in Trinidad, the land of calypso, road march is not calypso, it is soca. Their music which evolved from calypso and has captivated the world…. taking their carnival to new levels.
