I think the semis was pretty good, i had lady star in with her somg tomorrow. apart from being a good tribute to man himself the song says that we should not wait for tomorrow to be nice to people or treat them fairly because tomorrow might be to late….i think she sang well and was strong vocally and lyrically…if the judges were fair she could have been in instead of at least 3 people based on my own assessment. but good luck to the 9 selected.
King Dice is my dice my king my everything.
dicey am missing U babs the snow holding my flight back soon soon let them clear the strip. hold omn am cominggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg.
Coming home baby to meet you
Picky is my king
Hunter’s blood clot had a good melody. He is a good performer. He could have added some WIT to this one, by adding another verse telling blood clot that he apologised for what he made Ghost do on the night of last year’s calypso finals.
I hope one of the young new comers get a chance of wearing the crown give them some college help. I think Hunter should have been in the finals. Sting Ray and De Professor good luck.
Something that some patrons as well as Calypsonians seem to forget DICE will take any song and style it to suite himself he does that very well because he is a true performer , it’s not that Pat gives him the wining song that’s nonsense and it’s time a lot of folks stop that foolish talk, How many of Calypsonians can say they set down with Pat to put their songs together or write a song and take it to him to edit, so what the hell is the problem some of the songs are not well written therefor the stories are not clear some are confusing Karessa explain in his song what calypso suppose to be.. by the way are some of the patrons really listening to the messages or they judge because it’s their friends
But wait seems to me the Lloyds siblings means business man. I wish I was in Dominica to help them celebrate. Wish you all ,all the very best. I know that you all will bring home the crown.
Don’t understand why Jay-Dee did not make it!
Well,Well !
Continue fighting Bro!
Ah Chris B. was rooting for you.
Good luck to the other finalists
I do not understand why Black Diamond and Sting Ray are in the finals and Comforter and Vigilant are not. The latter two have stronger songs and their performances were not less than the two siblings. Those judges…smh
Stingray has every reason to be there. She was one of the better performers last night.
I would keep Sting Ray but not Black Diamond. Her performance was outstanding … I found his underwhelming. But, the judges have spoken … good luck to all!
Ambassador: you mr pickey and and mr karessa i hope all you have all you $100,000 because all u calling my name in all you song
All the finalist should sing a song about the bungy. Just do not tell him he qualify to play for Argentina.
Great show, well conducted patrons, Congratulations to all those who keep our culture alive unique to Dominica. Lets keep it that way, may the best woman or man win on the 14th of February 2015.
Congratulation to the jamma b…..good calypso my boy….your real fan ..nuffy..I will be there .
I enjoyed Karessa’s performance. The end was a sweet shocker. Am happy Karessa is doing it for his fellow calypsonian- checko. Give I really like it blows blows blows. Well done Karessa.
What did he do? Put me in the light somebody please!
look at the pics. When he removed his jacket to show “I like it”
see where the word “it” is strategically placed!
that’s how you do it checko!
We all know checko will be on stage in the finals. poor lad!
Couldn’t agree more. “Calypso is whit and humour and satire”. We can’t allow a few thin skinned people to damage the art form. Someone needed to sing about it on Checko’s behalf and no one could do it quite like Lord Karessa.
It will be a great finals Dice again
Dice is so Yawn! nothing fresh. SOS.
I like your shirt Dice. I really, really like it. But you are so handsome O.
What is your number Caressa? Scrunter, Transetta and Prosper should organize an ‘ I like it’ $30 T-Shirt Band, with a spectacled face in between.
The finals will be missing ingredients without Young Bull and Lugas. It is time for another illegal calypso king competition for those out of the finals like: bull, jd, lugas krisby, comforter, vigilante, explosion, mask eruption, Leona, Hunter, Observer,, Wave, Cheker, Della, Alisha, Soul Puss, Beno, etc. A prize of $10,000 would be well worth it with kind of the talents that are out there.
On another note, patrons should not keep telling the calypsonians on the last three days of the competition, not to forget their songs. That could have a negative effect. Let their minds be free.
I don’t see any problem the patrons are fed up with the calyponians who forget their lines especially when it’s a great song, it does mean that they are getting from the patrons enough is enough.
I must commend all the calyponians for an excellent job. However, I would have liked to hear some more current issues being brought into those political calypsos. Most of the lyrics have been heard since the season began and I thought to make the calypsos more fresh, issues such as the alleged political victimization of the Jones boy from Marigot, the protest at Melville Hall, the health of the Prime Minister, is he sick or not, the acquittal of Denny, the alleged racketeering of visas and passports at the labor division. According to Skeritt, the Commissioner should fix the racket, Hon Linton added his voice by saying the problem be should be fixed or repaired. A caller on the UWP political show, appeared to have agreed with Hon Linton, by adding some humor to the mess at the Labor Division, advising Boople to change the chorus in his of his calypso where he mentioned toyota and instead, should be ford, fix or repair daily.
this was a tough show to judge and the judges did an excellent job, I must say the nine are deserving of their places. It will not be easy to beat Dice but it is possible. I put my money on De Professor once his writer can give him a second song with equal impact as the first he can put up a challenge as he is also a popular young man who seem very comfortable on the stage. I hear some comments on Q about Pellam his writer and I think these comments are unfair and it seem that we enjoy all other songs about other people whether the lyrics are true or false but we cannot tolerate someone else’s opinion and it would seem that we have not grown at all. Anyway I do not hear anything in Professor’s song that I have not head before or that is not true so we must allow others their opportunity to criticize who have done certain things. This is what the art-form is about. Is not one set of people that should be criticized, I hear Toyota Pellam and its no problem, its Calypso so lets…
The professor’s song is a repeat of Beno’s calypso of 2013. The song was written for Beno by the same Pellam.
The professor is a young talent and has ways to go But to be given a song that Beno already sang is Rediculous. The young man should not be forced to burn bridges upon his first entry.
