On Sunday, January 24, Carnival officially began in Portsmouth with a parade through the streets of the second town.
The parade consisted of a lapau kabwit band, stilt walkers, the contestants of various pageants and music by WCK.
See photos from the parade below.

Your comment is vulgar and lewd but what you have said is true and factual.
The atmosphere of carnival is an artificial “joy” that has no basis in reality for people with no reason to be
happy. When carnival ends their good time is over. As you have said “…the poverty, theft, illiteracy” remains, and ” the cycle just keeps spinning non stop. ”
Fornication (illicit sex) leaves these things in its wake. When the celebration of sin is over there is only the bitter dregs.
That is why we invite people to come to Christ and receive HIM as their SAVIOR and LORD
“…as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name.” (John 1:12)
“He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” (1 John 5:12)
Look unto Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things of the world will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and…
Look unto Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things of the world will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Beautiful pictures Portsmouth I’m very impressed .. So have a good Carnival. Season.
This is a form of worship and praise – Just wondering which master is getting it. A voo-doo ting dat will never go away.
Bubbleboyrismality:
You know very well who the carnival people worship and praise!
When the saints worship and praise the God of heaven HE comes into their midst.
When carnival revellers open their mouths, raise their hands, and shake their bodies the devil himself comes among them, and demons descend upon them! You only need to examine the fruits of carnival.
Many a parent, doctor, and priest has heard a young woman say tearfully, ”It happened during carnival.”
Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Deliverance Evangelist.
This is another reason why so many of our children don’t know who their daddy is. Mommy just ben dong in de corner and one or two guys just unloaded their liquid cargo in ah. The result is poverty, theft, illiteracy and the cycle just keep spinning non stop. Disorderliness has a generational effect. There are more November born Children in Dominica than any other months. I had 4 girlfriends and they all were November born.
