Tiffany Eloi, of the Portsmouth Secondary School, has captured the Miss Teenage Pageant 2016 title.

Eloi outperformed six other contestants at this year’s competition, hosted at the Carnival Village on Sunday evening.

She won awards for Best Talent, Best Spectacular Creation, Best Evening Wear, Best in Evening Wear, and Best Response. She was also named Miss Photogenic.

While she believed that her “confidence, poise, and grace” gave her an advantage, Eloi thanked her supporters whole-heartedly.

“I would like to thank my chaperone, supporters, family members. Thank you for your support,” she stated.

The ecstatic winner explained that during her reign, she hopes to empower teens and help boost their confidence.

“I would like to empower teenagers, and help them to have confidence in themselves, because if you believe it, you can achieve it. And, hard work does pay off,” she said.

Tatyana Dangleben, of the Convent High School, secured the first runner-up position, and won the awards for Best Speech, and Best in Spectacular Creation.

Second runner up is Imelda Boston, of the Dominica Grammar School.

The award for Miss Congeniality went to Nadege Thomas of the Isaiah Thomas Secondary School.

Shame on the the judges ,I feel like the show that I was watching, and the one that they judged was two different shows ,I do not know what the judges are looking for but Nadage Barber should be placed,I never got bored watching her and her dress was stunning it stood out better than all the others.her speech was great as she has a voice that makes you stop and listen, this young lady is going to go far in life, she need to not let this bring her down,if the judges in Dominica can’t do the job they need to consider getting judges from other Caribbean countries because these are young ladies you are dealing with, you can’t break down their confidence like this or you will not have young ladies lining up for these shows.

To the organization that organized the teen pageant, shame, shame on you people. you encourages these young girls to participate and then you turn around and play favoritism. you placed the ones that did not deserve to be placed. The ITSS young lady deserve to be the best dress contestant and then you strip that away from her. you claimed you are setting standards for these young ladies and then you discourages then by not being fair to them. mothers should stop letting you people humiliate their children in this unfair pageant.

I thought the ITSS girl would place eh. Her platform was very interesting and uplifting. Grammar school didn’t not deserve to place. But a marvelous job to the new miss teen. She was amazing.

I believe DGS was placed based on consistency. We don’t know what it is that the judges are looking for (specifically) and it’s a point system. It could very well be that the scores between DGS and ITSS were very close, and DGS got a slight edge. We also have to think of what segments carried the highest points and who performed better in the different areas. It’s not about just ‘placing’ whomever they feel.

the child from the Isiah secondary had to place.the way that thing are being done in these shows really discourages parents from sending their children to participate in such pageants

Pss deserved her crown but she didn’t deserve all the awards she got….what are the judges really thinking are they out to create a negative impact on da kids participating… Cause judging this year is poor…Nadege was supposed to get best dress and best in dress and best in costume ..how did grammar school happen to placed…..they robbed itss this year trust me…schools should stop taking Part in those things

Congrats pss. For a while I thought that the eyes of the judges would not fall on the north this year. Three in a year? I guess you did exceptionally well and it was a clear cut win. Congratulations again and cudos to miss Elma Aaron Mr. Prince Stjean and miss Hyacinth and the pss team.
