I am watching all the way from NYC & have tons of experience with shows and interviews of this kind. All of these girls in my eyes’ are amazing and should congratulate themselves for taking part in this. It’s not easy going up at all. It takes a lot of work and courage to pull this off. So Dominicans instead of being so negative and rude to the girls why don’t you all support them and say to yourself “Wow I am so honored and blessed to live in this country where so much talent and love is poured upon.” Jeanne & Leslanna are my top 2 because I have studied them and have grown a bond with those set of ladies. But all in all, anyone can win. February 8th, 2013 8:00 p.m is not yet here so anyone can manage to win. The crown belongs to the girl who worked extensively hard and put their all into it, the one who while everyone was in their bed sleeping, was up practicing every little step. Since no one is God that concludes no one is perfect and because no one is perfect everyone makes mistakes and has flaws so stop the criticizing. The only person you are hurting is yourself.

I wish all the young ladies the very best on Feb 8th. It is not an easy task to be a contestant in a pageant. They are quite courageous. We must be supportive and kinder. I am quite impressed by them.

Many of us can’t come close. :) Not me for sure.. So let’s give them our positive support, even though you may have a favourite, no jeering, or boos if any errors. Let’s show them our best side. Buena suerte!

great mel c she answered her question brilliantly she spoke clear and the truth i admired the part where she said she failed french all through highschool, an she only received a 2 in cxc that’s when she really understood the french. This part was a bit inspiring it shows that when someone puts their mind to anything they can conquer, as long as u have faith. even as tiny as a mustard seed. Wow i cant miss this show its a must see all of the ladies are brilliant.

@DNO I think it would be interesting to do a poll so DNO viewers can choose their queen.

    February 6, 2013

My fellow Dominicans, I believe we’re gonna see a show of high standard this year. Wow. These ladies are awesome! Jeanne Royer and Leslassa Armour-Shillingford are immediate sell-offs…I can very well understand why, since they resemble the “ultimate package “…But Dominica, y’all better be on the lookout for Melinda Ulysses. She speaks so effortlessly; no gloss, no paint, just upfront and real. DNO I shall be paying 9.99 US out in the diaspora for the first time to see these beauties give the judges some work to do. Good luck ladies!

True, Jeanne is just herself and thzat’s a good point, she did not steal any accent!!

    February 6, 2013

So shouldn’t Jeanne be disqualified to participate if her mother is a part of the carnival association. If she was accustomed of being behind the scenes it is hard for the Judges not to be biased towards her.

2013 Princess is daughter of Princess show organizing, then now the queen. HMMMMMMM!

Pearl seems more comfortable and enjoyed the interview with Jeanne more than the one with Melinda. She smiled more with Jeanne.

Go for it Ladies. The crown is within reach.

Her mother is NOT part of the carnival association. Should Leslassa be disqualified that her mother has links with DDA?? Allu like too much controversy

why Dominicans hating on THE ARMOUR GIRL so na? Do i sense a jealous thing. what because of her name, or her accomplishments, well THAT IS THE KIND OF PERSON I WANT TO REPRESENT MY COUNTRY. A WELL ROUNDED INTELLIGENT WOMAN. PEOPLE, she is intelligent, she is talented and SHE IS DOMINICAN, are you

    February 5, 2013

I agree Jeanne is very are articulate and very well spoken but there is something Melinda. I enjoyed viewing her interview. You can tell that her responses were honest and personal and that she really believes in what she is saying. I am most touched by her response to the question about her role model. I wish all the girls all the best. The general consensus appears to be that they are a beautiful, intelligent. I trust that they each deliver on the night.

I watched journey to the throne on GIS last night and I was impressed with what I say. There was however 2 things Ms Domlec has to work on:
1 When Ms Fontaine greeted her and thanked her for being on the program, she responded “No Problem”. This is a professional video so I think she should have responded, “Thank you for having me here or I am happy to be here”
2 When ask which would she choose between Brain, Wealth and Beauty, she spoke of beauty last, no problem here. But she spoke of an ugly person. If she is a spiritual person she would know that God does not create any thing or person that is ugly. Therefore she shoudl replace ugly with something like “not outwardly appealing” I think this would be more in keeping with her statement. I dont want to criticise but merely point out where she could have been better. I dont kno her but I know her people fairly well and I support her and Jeanne. Good job girls

    • SMH
      February 5, 2013

That is true. I was thinking about it after closely looking at her short video from numusiczone and I feel like she is too rehearsed. It’s like her speech and all are just too prepared and forced. If they allow her to be her natural self but more refined, comfortable, ease, breathe a bit and just relax her mind and be in tune with her environment where ever she is her interviews would come out wonderfully if she take her time to think before she actually speak. But now that you’ve said it.. her speedy or should I say reflex action in responding with “no problem” just showed why all the rehearsed speeches and forced procedures. So I’m still hooked on Shillingford, Royer and Mel-C .. They’ve all got some appealing backgrounds, not forgetting the one representing soufriere; Noel. So these are my top four so far. Let’s see what the TALENT ROUND really hold, cause regardless of the looks, we find the night that the talents are a total MESS!!!!!! Let’s hope for the best and that they put on a SHOW and not some freebee street fair.

      NO, SERIOUSLY U MAKE ME LAUGH THERE WITH “YOUR HIGHNESS” LOL LOL… STOP IT, WISH THEM ALL THE BEST AND HAVE FUN BECAUSE IT TAKES A GREAT DEAL OF COURAGE, STRENGTH, FOCUS, DISCIPLINE AND A POSITIVE CHARACTER TO DO ALL THIS INFRONT OF AN AUDIENCE.
to be able to be on stage without any fear, one have to love what they do and do it to entertain and wow their audience in many different ways that are appealing and will leave an audience begging for an “encore”
