Dominica News Online today continues its efforts to stream live carnival activities on the streets of Roseau. Coverage will include the parade of costume bands in the morning and street jump-up in the afternoon.
DNO is making this effort despite limited resources and at some cost, to bring the activities to loyal readers and to all who are not able to see the Carnival Tuesday spectacle first hand but would like to watch.

I feel privelaged to be able to receive DA in my living room all the way in London. I am a regular visitor to DA during carnival, but this year I will be present a the Creole festival.

We did make an effort, at some extra cost and it appears to have borne fruit. We wish to thank those who have given positive and constructive feed back. We’re encouraged by those responses. We hope that shortcomings not withstanding, our coverage this afternoon will continue to be satisfactory. We know there’s much room for improvement but our view is that half a loaf is better than nothing. People are so ungrateful, here in Canada and US live streaming does not go smoothly, DNO was gracious enough to grant us access to see live even if it is a snippet, just be grateful you get to see it and stop complaining.

Thanks so much DNO, but is it possible that the camera can be repositioned. The viewing is terrible. The wires are in the way and the angle of the camera is not the best.

the camera man in the wrong position, u can hardly see the people that are parading. They need to be on the ground filming not in the air.

Next year. And here is a lil tip.. If you guys promise to have a better location and maybe have some lights to light up the streets while streaming..put a donation paypal link as sponsorship to streaming. Put the base limit something reasonable like maybe USD$1 and up and I bet you by time next year y’all should have enough to add with the other sponsors to take care o the camera man and technicians involved along with the streaming bill. Just a though. Maybe even a host and maybe footcams.. Just thinking out loud.. Thanx guys

Not able to access live streaming
Hi just to say thanks for ‘ trying a ting’ for us away from home but the camera man does not seem to be watching through his monitor. If he was he would see that he is spending a lot of time on distance unfocused shots. He/she is panning too fast and there are not enough close ups of groups.
He/she should be telling a story through the lens.
I should be feeling ‘the vibe’ not just watching ‘de road’ through blured out of focus shots.
People up on the balcony with camera person should have more sense than to stand in front of the camera whilst it is obviously on a tripod.
Surely if you are taking on the job, it should be your best effort.

Don’t get me wrong, I love just being able to see Carnival live I am extremely grateful. I just know that it would not take much to make watching a engaging experience!

You are too far up, go closer to the crowd because your camera’s resolution is not high enough to zoom in that far. That explains the poor quality of the video and trust me it is very bad
