Jewelle George of the St. Martin’s Primary School has captured the Ti Matador title during a pageant held at the Arawak House of Culture on Saturday evening.

She also took home awards for Spectacular Creole Wear, Best Pawol Creole and Best in Jupe.

First runner-up position went to Marci Savarin of the Roosevelt Douglas Primary School while Kahanna Blanc of the Grand Bay Primary School grabbed second runner-up position.

Savarin took home an award for Best in Art.

A total of five primary schools competed in the event and proceeds will go towards assisting Shawnelle Walsh, first runner-up in the Miss Teen Pageant 2012 in meeting medical costs in Guadeloupe where she underwent medical treatment in 2015.

Granbay people to like to think culture is for dem alone. they had that child too untidy in all rounds. i agree she should not have placed at all.

No no. That show was well judged she deserved All the awards. Yes the other child was more fluent in her speech. But how can u have that long creole speech focusing on so many other aspects and not on the child and what she loves. How you expect that to get best speech. The winner deserved it. And u know what grandbay should NOT have placed at all. goodwill primary should have placed.

i attended the show. i am proud of the young future queens who went out there to entertain us through their god given talent. i also must say that the winner is deserving of her crown because she was rather consistent throughout. my issue with the show goes as follows. The Master of ceremony has to be less bias. she seen to favored the winner through out the show even before she won. the way she would introduce her compared to the others. and secondly i dont think she deserved the award for best creole speech. there was another who spoke creole much better. select judges who can speak and understand creole.

Rubbish u talking. Who deserve best speech tell me. They can have how much long thing saying to prove they speak creole very well. But is what content the speech has. why come with a long thing but nothing taking about yourself. What you like. So u just there talking then. The child deserve best speech…allu does have too much to say when allu lose. The child deserve all the awards that she got and marci deserved best talent. Grandbay shouldnt place at all.

I think the organisers should consider an extravagant tete casse as the ‘crown’ instead of the regular rhyme stone crown. Congratulations to the winner
