Local artist Aaron Hamilton has captured the first prize in the Art Competition held under the theme ‘Erika”.
The prize winners were announced at the Opening of the National Independence Art Exhibition last evening at the Old Mill Cultural Centre in Canefield.
The second and third prizes went to Petros Meaza and Roger Burnett respectively.
The Opening Ceremony was attended by the Minister for Culture, Honourable Justina Charles, the Chief Cultural Officer Ms. Jacinta David and other officials of the Division of Culture, various artists, media representatives and the general public.
The top three works of art will be sold by auction and the proceeds will go towards the National Disaster Relief Fund.
The exhibition is presented by the Division of Culture and will run for two weeks. The exhibition is free to the general public.
