The Dominica Council on Ageing (DCOA) mourns the death of Evander Joseph who served as a member of the council for at least 4 terms.
He passed away yesterday [May 24th] at the age of 87.
“We condole with his family and also with the persons in council on ageing and elsewhere who recognized and loved his work,” President of the DCOA, Ophelia Olivaccé Marie said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to Marie, Joseph assisted in the policies of ‘Yes we Care’ and other programs that served to “do good” for the senior citizens.
“Mr. Joseph died with his boots on, in that, although he was home healing, he still contributed his ideas to the work of the council,” Olivaccé Marie revealed.
She continued, “And he was carded to be a member of the nominations committee facing the new elections that are going to take place on Friday this week with the DCOA.”
The DCOA president described Joseph as a person who can be emulated for his commitment, and his lack of fear “of saying what has to be said.”
Mr. Joseph worked as a police officer for the greatest part of his life and retired as Deputy Commissioner.
He also worked as a magistrate after retiring from the police force.
Marie said that Joseph has contributed significantly to the growth and development of the DCOA.
Friend, people are dying, and we must die.The question is Will I die in the Lord, or in my sins and open my eyes in hell?
Jesus, while still on earth.Told His followers, those who were saved.
“I go to prepare a place for you.I will also come again to receive you for myself… John 14.2
The apostle Peter speaks of an inheritance reserved in heaven for those who are prepared. 1 Peter 1.4
