Bella,
I think my neighbor is competing with me. Everything that I have she wants. She pretends to be my friend and she comes over to my house regularly. But I notice when she comes, she looks at what I have inside and she buys the same thing.
I don’t know what to call that. My husband says she is probably just patterning me because she respects me and want to be like me but that’s too creepy.
Last week I bought a rug in town. She came and she was so fascinated by it. The woman went and got the same rug.
She would do stuff like that often. I don’t think it’s amusing anymore. Its kind of strange and I want to tell her about it but she will curse me up. I know it for sure because her tongue is very loose.
Maybe I should just leave it alone. Or many I should ask her not to come to my house. It may sound petty but its serious. What do you think I should do?

Hello Creepy Stuff,
It is quite ok to let your neighbor know how you feel. If it is affecting you enough to talk about here, then it means the matter is affecting you.
You are also within your rights to open and close your door to who ever you feel like. So, asking your neighbor to “ease up” on the house warming is also within your rights.
Your neighbor cannot pattern your every move and want everything that you have.
I am not saying this may be so but she may begin to want “other things” than just those that are material.
It is creepy indeed what she’s doing. I say you level the matter with her.
If she doesn’t understand and gives you a tongue lashing, then it may be one of the only ways to have her stop coming to your home on a regular.

Start collecting antiques instead. She won’t know what to do/where to get your “new” decor and will eventually lose interest, plus it opens you to a whole new world of creative and mature home decorating. People like her lack a sense of individuality, they choose to imitate instead, it’s annoying, but it’s the same reason I took up sewing in high school – I didn’t want anyone looking remotely like me, and I’ve never had a copycat since! I always get the “where did you get that dress?!” reaction, and then I ooze with satisfaction when they have a look of disappointment on their face when they realize they can’t have it.
Talk to her outside your doorstep, she cannot go in your house without you inviting her in… issue solved. Now that you understand her personality, there is no need for contention just adjust your behavior, meet her outside, simple as that.
believe it or not it has alot of women like that.i know of two that are just the same as your neighbour. i just sum it up to jealousy.
Good advice Bella! But I really think that this neighbors behavior is motivated by the jealous attitude in her–this is a very difficult person to deal with
I think you are rediculious to think your neighbor is creepy. Are you doing the same thing to her or are you guys discuss things and you go out and get it before she does. Please note the manufacturer doesn’t make their stuff for one buyer, If they did, they would be out of business.
So how do you know that she buyys the same as you? You visit her home and do the same thing you say she does??

Your question is foolish! If the neighbor is constantly at her house, she can easily tell that she bought one like hers –that is the best way for to know that.
Well, borrow a friend 60″ TV or get and old (not working) 60″ flat screen TV, shine it up to look like new (like you just buy it from Courts…) and place it on your tv stand. One more thing……. place it in a tv box, and let her see you carrying into your house. See what happens after that.
Who knows, she might run go buy one too!!!!
My gran had a neighbour exactly like this. When I mentioned it to gran, she told me it did not matter. She said that the neighbour had no or little imagination and to be copied was a form of flattery. They stayed good neighbours for many years.
Your neighbor must be a red DLP
If you are living in DA, don’t you know by now that you don’t let people come into your house to see what you have or you may not have it for long? The less other people know, who are not living with you, the better.
Anon Macko, U sound like a paleau. Mackos en toute sauce

I see jealousy in the making. You’d better watch your back with your (socalled) friend. I had a neighbor who did the same. She went as far as poisoning my pet dogs. Soucouyant
Maybe you should offer some home decor advice. If she asks you for what, tell her you notice a similarity in your furnishings and you have some original ideas you want to pass on to her. If she refuses, then that’s your reason to “uninvite” her into your home. Imitation is not always the best form of flattery.
You neighbor is a jealousy person, you should not let her into your house close your door and talk with her outside so she will get the message.
