Death of female fire officer described as a loss

Lewis’ passing described as a loss to the Fire and Ambulance Service

The Dominica Fire and Ambulance Service has paid tribute to one of the country’s first female fire officers who died recently.

44 year old Fredericka Lewis of Fortune succumbed on May 20, 2014 at the Princess Margaret Hospital after a two-year battle with cancer. She was buried on Saturday.

Public Relations Officer of the Fire and Ambulance Service, Wayne Letang, told DNO that the passing of Lewis, who left two children behind, will be a loss for the Service.

“She will be a great loss. Some persons within the fire department called her the “Diary”,” Letang said, “because one of the things (was) that she ensured that the diary was always in order, proper writing, sentencing, so she was really dedicated to that part. She was somebody who was intelligent and like reading, and studying her work, and tried to make the best of the opportunities that she had,” he added. “She was a real dedicated person I would say, she tried everything improve herself and to get it right.”

According to Letang, one of the jokes around the office was ” if you made a mistake in the diary, she would actually make noise with the person.”

“A good fire officer, ” jovial”, “always encouraging others to further their education”, “making the most of her limitations”, were some phrases used to describe her.

Lewis served as a fire officer from 1999-2014 and was stationed at the Fire and Ambulance Service Headquarters on Bath Road.

Lewis and fire officer, Thora Robinson, who is still serving, entered the Fire and Ambulance Service together.

We miss you and the steps to your home. We call upon Government to make health insurance a standard benefit for every public servant…….especially the fire and ambulance service personel who do such a good job. Worrying about money when you are sick reduces quality of life and inhibits recovery……

We must all travel this road, not necessarily cancer, but it’s the same road.

I only got to know Fredericka after she was sick. I want to say amen to everything already been said. And I will simply add this:

Many patients have to be consoled. Fredericka consoled me. She brought me to the brink of tears every time because of the strength and courage she constantly radiated. She fought a good fight. She brought high honour to the Fire and Ambulance Service as well as all the good work of the Dominica Cancer Society.

Never use the word “amen” at the end of a prayer or statement. In so doing you are either praying to or paying tribute to “Amen Ra” the Egyptian Sun God.

I will bet that most people are not aware that Jesus and christ are synonyms for “the sun.” So when you go to church, you are actually worshiping the SUN god, not the god that you thought that you were paying homage to..
If you don’t believe me, start doing some research on your own. Eventually you will discover that the Vatican and Jesuits are the illuminati that rule the world and we are all slaves to these people. If you have a birth certificate, you are a slave and they gave you a number on the NY stock exchange. That is where they got human resources, you are a product or resource for them to use.

Instead use “and so it is.”

This is the problem with many different teachers/preachers of this era, some who are false and who falsely indoctrinate those who will listen to them and in their weakness follow them.
You are wrong! Who are you to correct Dr. Christian? What do you know more than him? You are out of place!
Our Christian teaching on this matter is the one and only, namely and primarily by the Catholic Church which has been established 2,000 years ago.
What types of indoctrination and books have you been getting and reading?
“AMEN” means “SO BE IT!” Let it be done according to Thy Will, O Lord!
We have every right to use it after we pray and say Eternal rest . . .
I am proud of my Catholic teaching. I have been taught appropriately. I dare you to tell me that I should not say Amen.
As I always state, one day the truth will be revealed to you.
Dr. Christian, keep saying/praying “Amen!” It is correct to do. You should know that for you have been saying it for years since a child as you were taught.

I was so shocked when she told me sometime last year that she had the big “C”. I got to know Fredericka when we were students at the Dominica Amateur Radio Club, training for our ham radio license in 2011/2012. She was “thick” at that time and a very alert student. So when I met her on the streets of Roseau a year later, she was reduced in size but still a smiling person. Before I could even ask her “are you ok? You don’t look well!”, she just told me the sad news. She will be missed. She was great!

Sad…very sad…..I hope that there was some form of insurance for fire fighters who risk their lives to save others.

Research shows that people in this profession are exposed to cancer causing elements and so I strongly believe that this should be looked into .

If you want cancer (estrogenic mimickers) try the exposure of all the pesticides and herbicides that they are spraying along the roads (Round-up, Grammasone). This is more expensive and toxic than hiring brushcutters.
