As delegates of the United Workers Party (UWP) gather at the Goodwill Parish Hall to elect a new political leader, a majority of the participants in a DNO poll, have made known their choice for that position.
Poll participants had to choose between Dr. Thomson Fontaine and Clement Marcellin who have publicly announced their intention to vie for the political leader.
Of the 715 people who participated, 57% (399) voted for Clement Marcellin and 43% (297) voted for Thomson Fontaine.
Please note that this is not a scientific poll and is not intended to predict the result of the election for political leadership of the UWP.

The poll shows that labourites want to tell UWP who to elect as Political Leader of the UWP. Meanwhile the Labour Party has not had a delegates conference since 2013.
I do not understand,57%+43%=100%.399+297=696.715 or 716 participated.What happened to the other 19 or 20?I guess just like the PEOPLE rejected UWP,the 19 or 20 were rejected.Even in that little FING UWP,lying to Dominicans.

Everybody know,including people who voted Fontaine,that the first opportunity he get he will leave Dominica in search of a job.Fontaine vying for leadership is just a show put on by UWP.
I don’t know much about Clement except I know he is an opposition senator. But if the Uwp have a problem with young ppl entering politics then I should question how could he be voted as party leader.
However, Fountaine is a complete no no, this man doesn’t have any good reputation and the party will be bedeviled by even more chastizing than before. Can this party attract credible people at all. I guess not and I care not.
As for me I voted for Thompson because he is the most qualified person at this time. But after listening to Brian I have decided to withdraw my support for UWP completely because Mr James and Hon Linton should not allow Brian to wage that war on the party on their behalf and they said nothing let alone to condemn it. Dr Fontaine should just withdraw his candidacy and leave those people party for them.
