I sincerely believe that a lot us are agonizingly torn about what is the right approach to follow regarding Covid. Though we did not sign up to be in these perilous times, we still find ourselves here in these “mark of the beast” times where we are being told to mask up and vaccinate in order to buy, sell, earn and participate.
Survival is the ultimate end game here. It very clear that we here on this forum, like the rest of the world, disagree on the best approach to make it through this storm.
A lot of forked tongue DNO legacy posters are now crying wolf and raising the Covid alarm. Those are the same flim flam Covid doubters who have staunchly decried mask and vaccine mandates. After lambasting every prudent Covid mitigation policy the government has introduced, the lukewarm charlatans are now complaining that not enough is being done.
I will call no names as they undoubtebly know who they are so who the cap fits let them wear it.

Whereas, the virus COVID-19 and it variances multiplies exponentially, if we multiple that number to the first power of ten (10) we might find that there are at least ten thousand cases on the island.
I wonder how the people who were giving praises to government Roosevelt Skerrit and his gang of puppets for how good, a performing fight against this out of control virus which they said not long ago was not in Dominica; how do they account for the underestimated one thousand cases they have now reported?
Be informed that more than a million people has died in the United States in less than three years; killed by the virus, how long could it take to eliminate the population of Dominica, which is less than fifty thousand people?

Telemaque, the number of deaths in Dominica through this pandemic is only 51 for the last 2 years. You said the population is less than fifty thousand, but look at the chart and you will see that 31862 people have the 1st dose of vaccination, but there are still those who are unvaccinated–what is your less than fifty thousand population?
Now if only 51 people have died from a population of at least 50 thousand people, after 2 years you tell us how long it will take to ELIMINATE 50 thousand people?

I was worried for a moment; by not being able to reach you by E-mail nor telephone. To be frank just about the time you disappeared from DNO, one of my girlfriends in England seems to have dropped off the face of the planet too, if you know what I mean!
I mean people die so fast and often these days, when I missed someone I get worried!
When you are puling out of circulation for as long as you disappeared you need to let me know. I almost get up in all this bad weather; in all that snow to go to your house in Canada to see if you gone on the other side; Rendy advised me not attempt that, she feared I got caught in snow and freeze to death.

Because of covid…when is the government going to pay a monthly salary to those affected…like daycares and their employees and they had money throwing in grandbay which was unnecessary….the very small business need help…not loan…u not making money who can u pay loan…hypocrisy….this makes absolutely no sense these are the world class thinking people….
The captain Skerritt and his chief engineer, the minister of health and other fancy useless names, thought that when the rest of the world reported that Omicron was very transmissible and contagious that it would just pass Dominca straight. I’m not surprised that the cases have spiked considering that Martinique and Guadalupe had or still have high case loads with Omicron and Delta variants. The minister then goes overseas on his personal business and leaves the country’s health of the nation vulnerable and Skerritt callously tried to sweep the pending rise of the variant on the back burner. The Delta variant is still out there and I just hope the health facilities don’t get over burdened by the situation. Mayday!mayday!!.
The rising number of cases is becoming alarming. This is no laughing matter. The Captain is quizzically speechless. He was hogging the media, taking up all the oxygen when the numbers were negligible and deaths at zero. Now things are deadly serious, people are very much concerned, he has gone incognito.
Anybody can lead when things are good. Great leaders are born during times of adversity. The Tyrant and his posse are supremely unfit to hold office in these times of grave economic and health crises.
@Ibo France, if you broaden your scope a bit away from always trying to denigrate Skerrit, you will observe that the Chinese are the only country in the world that are actually trying to curtail the spread of covid (and successfully so) with very strict and stringent methods of how their population interact with each other. The rest of the world are concentrated more on reducing the effects via ensuring that a high percentage of their population are vaccinated, whereby, reducing deaths. If we were to apply the same measures as the Chinese you would be the first to jump on the bandwagon to accuse Skerrit of breaching your human rights and we would probably have much higher death rates if the economy was brought to a standstill. I think that the government has the right approach in dealing with covid, hence the small numbers of deaths even with the infection numbers rising. People just need to play their parts by observing the protocols and taking the vaccines.
No right thinking, astute leader would want to emulate the Chinese draconian measures. Millions of ordinary people in China are living under excruciating, insufferable conditions. You don’t see nor hear about it because of a total news blackout by the Chinese government about reporting on COVID by independent journalists and news organisations.. The communist government also carefully dictate the narrative about the number of infected citizens and residents. The numbers are greatly understated to deceive.
For you to laud Xi for his government’s COVID-19 policies shows that you are gullible, uninformed and ignorant.
@ Ibo France, it is not a question of lauding Xi’s policies or decrying them. It is what the evidence show. China was the first Country to be impacted by COVID, and while the rest of the world were decrying them for how they dealt with it to bring it under control, COVID was making it’s way to the west with more devastating effect. Now with COVID well under control in China and the rest of the world grappling to control it’s effect, the Chinese are now able to return to normalcy while still ensuring that they keep COVID in check. You have to remember that the Chinese have one of the largest population in the world so they cannot afford to allow the virus to run amok among their population. Based on their initial experience with this virus they know only too well how devastating it could be to them. Compare their death numbers to that of the US, UK Brazil etc. This should tell you who is in control of covid or not.
