Dominica Cancer Society Inc celebrates 20th anniversary

On Sunday, 13 June, 2010, the Dominica Cancer Society Inc. will be celebrating its 20th  anniversary under the kind patronage of His Excellency Nicholas J.O Liverpool, D.AH. President of the Commonwealth of Dominica (and Patron of the Cancer Society). This will be held at the Roseau Cathedral and will begin at 6:30 pm. The service will be preceded by a prayerful march by cancer survivors, families and friends.

Bishop of Roseau, Gabriel Malzaire, and Chairman of the Christian Council of Churches will present a motivational talk on the theme, “The Light of Compassion: Forgiveness, Healing and Hope”

The Pioneers of the Society will be recognized. The health teams and Harris Paints (only cooperate Citizen), who successfully participated in the National Breast Examination Campaign will be awarded certificates of achievement.

Also in attendance will be Minister of Health, Hon Julius Timothy, a number of health personnel and other church leaders. President Vinna Royer will present the Society’s Report. This will be followed by survivors’ testimonies and solidarity messages. The Revival Lights Choir of the Cathedral will be providing the music.

The Dominica Cancer Society Inc. will also be launching a 20th Anniversary Magazine.
