The town of Portsmouth is the venue for activities for World Marriage Day this year. This event takes place on Sunday 10th February beginning with an Eucharistic celebration from 9.00am at the Portsmouth Roman Catholic Church. His Lordship Bishop Gabriel Malzaire will be the main celebrant at the Mass. The event seeks to honour marriage and family as the basic unit of society and to salute the beauty of the faithfulness, sacrifice and joy of married couples in daily life. It also recognizes marriage as the cornerstone for strong family life and a resilient society . Additionally the celebration is used to promote couple covenant love as a reflection of God ‘s love for his church and to remind married couples of the need to remain faithful and committed to their covenant and to God’s plan for humanity.

Is marriage a good thing? Yes it is .. Is family life a good thing? Yes it is. Should these good things be celebrated ? Yes they should be. Are we saying a murderer should not celebrate the birth of a family member? People, all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. He who has no sin cast the first stone. All priests and bishops must account to God for the wrong they have done and so must every man and woman. So let us not be so hypocritical about a simple celebration. Stop trying to put a negative spin on everything especially the good things.
Dominica Catholic Marriage and Engaged Encounter celebrates World Marriage Day
Once more we see a conflict, and it is very evident and obvious. The Bishop nor any of the “Priests” are married. Yet they are heading and leading the day of celebration and recognition.
OK. Let them officiate the ceremony, as they performed the marriages, and their participation should end right there as they are not married, but it does not. Oh what a tangle web we weave, when at first we practice to deceive. I will comment no further unless prompted.
Will Father Thomas be recognized for his looooooong service? If so will he be recognized as a priest or something else?
” Bishop Gabriel Malzaire will be the main celebrant at the Mass. Following the mass, a number of married couples and priests will be recognized…”
So they called it “World Marriage Day Celebration” yet Bishop Gabriel Malzaiire will be the key celebrant. Is the Bishop Married? Please don’t tell me he too is married because I am fed up of hearing bishops and priest enjoying married life in secret. Also, if it is Marriage Day they celebrating why priests have to be recognized? Are they married? Boy you think Mr. them not married in secret? What about those Nuns? Will they be recognize for their service rendered to those priests?
Instead of maskingup in the name of Marriage the Bishop should call all his priests and nuns together and ask all those that are not living like married people to leave the gathering so he could address those that living like married people in secret. Here is Pope Francis: https://news.yahoo…
DNO when are you guys going to intervie bishop and ask him the following:
Why are there so many priest molesting young children in the church while they are protected and have thier been any reports over the years in Dominica that have been swept under the Carpet?
Are there any priest and bishops in Dominica that have been involved or accused of sexual assault on nuns in the church.?
Does tbe Catholic church have a sex deprivation problem?
When will the church stop encouraging poverty and political abuse in addition to being devisive in its openly bias political leanings?
What is the Church in Dominica doing to remain relevant in members eye when it seems to be the main culprits of darkness and evil by its actions and inactions.
