Shawnalee Gordon

Meanwhile, the Dominica Chess Federation (DCF) has congratulated its top female player, Shawnalee Gordon, on being named valedictorian of the Dominica State College Class of 2022.

Gordan is a triple Major with first-class honors. She also went home with the Program Awards in Business Administration and Mathematics.

“The Dominica Chess Federation takes this opportunity to encourage other female members of our society to take on the sport of chess, as our women in society continue to make strides and succeed to the highest degree,” PRO of the DCF, Hassan Robinson stated.

He said five top Dominican chess players who will be heading to Chennai India to compete in the 44th Olympiad, will be “opening new doors for the sport of chess and for youth in the country, no matter their age or sex.”

Robinson said he sees a positive future for Gordon.

Pipo I just going to answer your one question: Who paying for this trip?
The International Chess Federation (FIDE) is the one who pays for this five-man trip and accommodation.

Very interesting. It shows that Dominica does have cerebral talent. One question:
Who is paying for this trip because it can not be cheap for a five-man team to travel all the way to India. It’s not Bitcoin, is it, which features so prominently on the federation’s promo page. And why is Shawnalee not included (unless it’s a boys only affair?). Anyway, good luck fellows. Time our country gets some positive exposure for a change.

Well-loved. Like or Dislike: Thumb up 14 Thumb down 1
