The Dominica Freedom Party shares its concerns with the people of Dominica, at home and abroad, who have been affected by the ongoing pandemic caused by Covid-19. Our sincere condolences to any Dominican who lost loved ones in the diaspora. The party also wishes a speedy recovery to any Dominican affected in one way or the other by Covid-19.
The DFP acknowledges and continues to give kudos to the frontline workers who have worked tirelessly to keep Dominicans safe and sound. Congratulations to the Ministry of Health and by extension the government, for its policies and programs initiated to mitigate against the spread of Covid-19 infection in the country.
The Dominican Freedom Party wants to encourage Dominicans to avail themselves to receive the vaccinations offered by the Ministry of Health. The vaccination will assist in reducing hospitalizations, severe illness, and ultimately fewer deaths.
However, the party is deeply concerned with what appears to be the politicization of the roll out of the vaccine. It has come to our attention that persons are being asked to register at the Labour Party constituency offices as well as at the Labour Party office in Roseau. This we find is reprehensible and totally alienating. We caution that this should not be used as a party political matter and any attempt to do so should be discouraged. As a healthy nation, access to the vaccine is a right of all Dominicans and should not in any way be seen and/or treated as a political party undertaking.
Covid-19 does not discriminate, and hence, the Dominica Freedom Party, insists that the registration process be free from any party politics. We ask that the registration process be restricted to Government Medical Facilities, with the involvement of district health personnel, nurses and doctors, and NOT party political offices.
The Dominica Freedom Party joins the health administrators in promoting a safe Dominica free of Covid-19 by the continued wearing of face masks, social distancing and hand washing. We also want to add our voice to the call and to ask all eligible Dominicans to the uptake of vaccinations as rolled out by the Health Authority.
What? I do not think the DLP would stoop this low with covid.

Mr. Hurtault, may I ask, to what social standing do the Ministry of Health and the Government belong to? Is it not the Labor Party?
So how do they guide the people to a registration site for the Corvid-19 Vaccine if they do not give them a genuine address?
And yes, those sites are controlled by the Labor Party, who is the present Government–how is that politicizing–especially that the majority of Dominicans are Laborites–they all know who is serving them.
Did you organize a registration site, where ever you are, and offered the place, but the government rejected it? I am sure not!

The current government has a hard time separating government from labour party. Its thier modus operandi. We saw it with funding after Maria we see constituency care takers involved in sharing supplies and deciding who gets scholarship. Its all about optics for the next manifesto for elections. Nothing is Done in the best interest of Dominica only for glorification of the labour god. Meanwhile 20 years the country is languishing.
The DFP what do you have to gain by spreading such falsehood and propaganda? If you want to remain relevant speak truthful. As Dominicans, we prideful say Dominica is COVID-19 free! Only with a strong, diligent, and efficient administration can such success be achieved.

Which part of the DFP’s statement is propaganda? What I gather from this statement is that the Freedom party is trying to mitigate the perpetuation of alienation of the citizens. The statement is asking that the process be inclusive and not exclusionary, because any citizen who is not a supporter of the DLP, will be intimidated to go to a DLP Office or headquarters to register; and the reason for that sentiment is due to the strong partisan climate in Dominica. DFP’s statement congratulates the government on its handling of the pandemic. As Dominicans we must all be proud of our COVID status, and appreciative of the government’s handling of the pandemic. I am saddened to see that people within the Carribbean are not questioning the validity of a vaccine which has taken a matter of a few months to be approved, therefore the long term side effects and efficacy has not been fully proven.
Dominica like the rest of the Caribbean Islands should question why Countries such as India who has an enormous amount of Rona cases, would want to give away for ‘free’ a huge porportion of a vaccine to a country that has no Rona deaths and a few people in the Rona facilities.
Are you all so gullible to think that something which is free is necessarily going to benefit you, wake up people and remember who is behind the manufacturing of the vaccine and past history to do with black people.

Labour party is not paying any politics with the vaccine. Everyone is encouraged to go to receive their shots. The constituency offices as you should be well aware is not an office for just labourites. It’s open to the general public despite your party colour. So if people are asked to register at the office that is open to red, blue, green or white, what’s wrong with that? Do you know the benefit of having people register? It allows the parl rep to arrange transportation to take people from one area to another because the vaccines where given in the main health centers. For example someone lives in Delices the health center is in La Plaine. You have a few elderly persons who want to go to be vaccinated but have no means of transportation it will allow the parl rep to say guys I will arrange transportation for all those interested..the bus leaves at 7AM. That allows for a greater turn out for all those interested.

The councils are filled with the operatives of the government and their roll is pretty much to report to the government (snitches) and to enforce the private agendas of the various officials.
