Dominica Red Cross implements climate change project

Rain Forest Aerial Tram General Manager Ms. Nikima Royer & Staff receive garbage bins and Climate Change Communications package from Field Coordinator Kendel Laurent of the Dominica Red Cross

The Dominica Red Cross through funding provided by the European Commission Humanitarian Aid Office implemented a Climate Change Adaptation project over a nine month period.

The Dominica Red Cross recognizes that Climate Change will have the greatest impact on vulnerable persons in our communities and has taken on board a role to address the humanitarian impacts of this complex environmental issue that faces Dominica and the rest of the world.

In building awareness the Dominica Red Cross has been developing actions to address climate change and advocating to “Think Globally, Act Locally.”

On Friday 25th 2011, 17 institutions received garbage bins as a means to maintain a cleaner, eco-friendly environment and thereby playing their part in reducing climate change.

Further Climate –Saving awareness tips have been developed for posters and desk top calendars issued to Public and Private Sector organizations.

Climate change is a natural phenomenon.
However, there are govt.s that have the necessary tools and research to change the climate, stop and start hurricanes, make it rain or not rain, etc.

Corporations have contributed the most to polluting this planet, not the common person. However, that is no reason to pollute in the first place.
