The Ministry of Health has announced that medical personnel from Cuba will arrive in Dominica on Thursday to assist the country battle the coronavirus (COVID-19) contagion.
According to a statement from the Ministry, a medical brigade from Cuba consisting of 25 nurses, 5 doctors and four lab technicians will arrive this Thursday to assist with the direct management of COVID-19.
“I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the Government and People of the Republic of Cuba, for once again showing solidarity with our country. I have always said that you know who your friends are in times of trouble,” Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit wore in a post on his Facebook page,
In the post, the prime minister also issues strong advice to all individuals who have been quarantined over the last week “to adhere to the guidelines and protocols provided, while the officials of the Ministry of Health continue to conduct surveillance and testing activities.
“The public is also advised to contact health officials in their districts regarding anyone not adhering to quarantine measures,” he added.

Well that’s very good that we can get help from Cuba, because God knows we need it. However, I hope the staff that’s coming is quarantined, and properly at that, before they start practising in Dominica. Cuba has positive cases, and even if they are tested before they leave Cuba, because this vaccine presents and manifests itself in so many different ways, it would be wise to take all precautions. Also they could be exposed during travel. There is new information coming out on the virus almost every day. Testimonies of infected people are so different, there are lots of unknowns. Thank you Cuba.

Now Skerrit is crying for help all over the place and he of course gets it from his communist brothers. I knew all along that this thing they call China friendship hospital was not up to the simplest challenge. The should have called the place Hotel California because one can always check in but one will never leave. Dominica is totally unprepared for this thanks to all you big mouth mouth good for nothing PM. By the way, I knew begin of last week that DA had at least one case already…!

I hope they are in quarantine all now because if they are not and have to just fly from Cuba and jump to our health centers and hospitals they would be seen as a Hazzard to our health instead of doctors. Yet, if you have to wait until things fall apart to have them in quarantine for 14 days would be as good as bad. We must stop reacting and be more vigilant and proactive
