Dominica hoteliers are once again being recognized for providing outstanding service, quality and value to their guests.
Discover Dominica Authority (DDA), reports in its latest weekly newsletter that the annual TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice awards “recently recognized several Nature Island hotels and resorts.”
TripAdvisor is considered the world’s largest travel site.
According to the DDA publication, “Secret Bay had unprecedented success with four awards; Beau Rive, Jungle Bay and Pagua Bay House each received recognition in two categories.”
Dominica’s hotels were awarded in the following categories:
- Top 25 Hotels in the Caribbean: #3 Jungle Bay
- Top 25 Luxury Hotels in the Caribbean: #2 Secret Bay
- Top 25 Small Hotels in the Caribbean: #4 Secret Bay, #6 Pagua Bay House and #9 Beau Rive
- Top 25 Hotels for Service in the Caribbean: #3 Pagua Bay House, #7 Secret Bay, # 10 Jungle Bay and #23 Beau Rive
- Top 25 Hotels for Romance in the Caribbean: #9 Secret Bay
- Top 25 Bargain Hotels in the Caribbean: #20 The Champs
Winners are determined based on the millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year from travelers worldwide.
The DDA is urging travellers to www.DiscoverDominica.com in order to learn more about the Nature Island’s award-winning hotels or resorts for their next visit to Dominica.
“Visit and select ‘where to stay,’ the DDA advises.
Meanwhile the DDA also reveals in its weekly newsletter that Dominica’s Jazz ‘n Creole was recently highlighted on Guadeloupe Premiere television.
A video production of the event was broadcast on Guadeloupe Premiere Television on June 16, 2015 as a episode of B. World Connection which features Dominican musical icon, Gordon Henderson.
The production was done by a five-member film crew from Indraline Productions which was hosted by Discover Dominica Authority from May 22 – 26, 2015 for the festival’s sixth edition.
Exposure of the Jazz Festival by these media houses is expected to increase awareness of the event in the French territories, the DDA says.

way to go, da!! for 5 hotels in out little island to make the top rankings is amazing! keep up the good work everybody. it will pay dividends down the road. i stayed at a resort in mexico (cancun) and they treat you like royalty. keep emulating the best, dominica. this is quite an accomplishment!
Commencing 3 Dec. of this year, Europe’s third larges budget air line Norwegian Air will start a daily non stop service between Martinique and New York JFK (3 x week), Boston Logan (2 x week) and Baltimore-Washington Intl. I have checked their prices and in Dec. one can fly from Martinique to New York for as little as Euro 309.80 return! Norwegian will use one of their new 737-800’s with all leather seats and free wi-fi. In Dominica, I can only eat my heart out. We don’t even have a scheduled flight between Dominica and Martinique! As this new service is aimed at the cruise business the departure and arrival times are unfortunately not convenient for onward same day ferry connections with Dominica – typical dep. JFK 13.30 – arr-. FDF 19.15, dep. FDF 08. 05 – arr. JFK 12.00.
Norwegian also fly direct between London Gatwick and Puerto Rico and London Gatwick and Ft.. Lauderdale, using the 787 Dreamliner. Could we at least have a heliport with lighting or a daily ferry?
All private initiative and I applaud them. All we need now is to get rid of Roosevelt Skerrit and put all the money to work inside the country. We want to attract real investors bringing money to our shores and not Dominicans bringing money offshore.
