DOWASCO undertakes water audit as part of water supply upgrade

water-auditDOWASCO has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) to undertake the on-going “Third Water Supply Project—Water Area 1 Upgrade.” As part of this project, DOWASCO has received grant funding from the CDB to undertake a Water Audit of its water systems.

A consultant, Fichtner Water and Transportation GmbH of Germany, has been engaged to undertake the audit and will be supported by DOWASCO staff.

One of the key aims of the activity will be to reduce losses in the water network and improve overall operational efficiency.

As part of the Water Audit, a random sample of about 1% (210 meters) of all customer water meters installed by DOWASCO, will be tested for measurement accuracy. This exercise will require DOWASCO’s technicians to remove these meters and transport them to DOWASCO’s calibrated meter test bench in Roseau for testing, after which they will be reinstalled at the customers’ premises.

Customers whose meters will be tested will be contacted with more details. DOWASCO solicits the cooperation of its customers and the general public in facilitating the successful execution of this exercise, as we work towards improving the efficiency of potable water service.

I have confidence in Dowasco though they are yet to brainstormed exporting all this water flowing straight to the sea. However, when I was in Grandbay I saw one of the bosses driving driving thru a Dowasco river running down the middle of Lalay for what I understand is 5 weeks now without much concern.

  2. No water for 2 days (so far) in Wesley this week. No notices sent out to your “valued customers” ….. You are a better corporate citizen than that!” (Cyril Volney).

No water in Wesley? What happen to the reservoir, and water supply system the UWP provided? The system was built more than ten miles in the mountains of Wesley. Where are you Athena Telemaque Robin Benjamin? Where are you Gloria Dods Shillingford? Where are you Athena, the one and the same who told me you were going home to help Skerrit build Dominica.

It would appear to me your first order of destruction was to paint the whole front of my late father house red.

Fix the water problem on Marigot. Ask Skeritt for money. This is going on too long and it’s unfair yo have people collecting water in buckets in 2016. DNO my first comment was not posted. Why.

Please get the water system in Marigot and surrounding areas fixed. We need another water company to give DAWASCO competition. 2016 and my 83 year old mom is collecting water in buckets. Shame on DAWASCO.

Undertake an audit of your entire system. No water for 5 days last week Marigot to Calibishie. No water for 2 days (so far) in Wesley this week. No notices sent out to your “valued customers” ….. You are a better corporate citizen than that!
