Discover Dominica Authority organizes customer service workshop

The Discover Dominica Authority has organized a series of one day customer service workshops geared at improving the service delivery of the sector.

The workshops which will be facilitated by Ms. Joan Leacock of the Caribbean Tourism Organization will focus on maintaining a positive attitude, conducting business in a professional manner, communication, teamwork, anticipation of customer needs and understanding the service industry.

The workshops will be held both in Roseau and in Portsmouth and it is hoped that participants will be able to impact the knowledge gained into their respective fields in order to improve the quality of service delivered to guests. The workshop will commence from July 25th to 29th 2011.

The course at the college is a waste of time. We need persons trained in serving and mixing drinks, waiting tables efficiently and not loads of people coming out with a worthless scrap of paper in “Management”, yet can’t do an thing behind the front desk or in front of clients. Please, reassess the whole thing.

This is a great opportunity for persons working in the Tourism Industry and the services sector in general to sharpen their skills, and, for those directly involved in Customer Service in particular, to use the training as a refresher course. Since we are in the off season this training provides an opportunity to become better prepared for the upcoming season 2011 – 2012. Let’s hope persons take advantage of this Customer Service training opportunity…
