Chief Statistician Prayma Carrette said Dominica has made significant advances in data publication.
She was speaking on the heels of the observance of Caribbean Statistics Day today, under the theme “Recognizing the essential role of statistics in the development of CARICOM”.
Carrette said Dominica now better understands the role of statistics.
“Over the years the central statistics office in Dominica has provided a wide range of social and economic statistics on national levels. In fact we are the national body of statistics. We provide statistics on housing, economic indicators, Gross Domestic Products, external trade statistics, national production statistics, democratic, education statistics. Recently we covered the crime statistics,” she said.
Caribbean Statistics Day is geared at promoting the use of statistics in the Caribbean.
