The Government of Dominica has committed $1.2-million to the community of Pichelin.

At a town hall meeting in the community, Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit outlined how the money will be spent.

He said that $150,000 will go towards small business. Forty-one new washrooms will be built for residents at a cost $451,000 and nine new homes will be built for residents of Maranatha Square, which will benefit a total of 32 people.

The Prime Minister also informed residents that $300,000 will go towards building a much-needed retaining wall in the community and another $300,000 will be put towards the crossing at ‘Flip’.

The nation’s leader revealed that residents of the community in need of homes will be the recipients of some of the houses being built in Bellevue Chopin.

“We are not only building homes just for the people of Petite Savanne. We are building extra homes recognizing that we know that there are people in Pichelin and Bellevue Chopin who need a home and who have been waiting for some time…”, he said.

Growing up as a kid in Dominica I saw how Dominica could be developed as one of the greatest Caribbean Island in the world. With all its citrus and beautiful nature, However, Since I was my parents first born I had to leave school and began a new life. But I always have a dream for Dominica. Today I am happy that someone else had a dream like me. In-spite of all the criticism by so many people, I still encourage the Prime Minister to purse his dream to make Dominican remember his good intention. I learned that Most Dominican regardless of what you do for them if they don’t like you there is nothing you will do that can change them. However, those who benefits from your progress is greater than those who hate you. The psychological thinking of most Dominican is below their age appropriate Good luck with your endeavor of good things. YOUR NEXT PROJECT FOR DOMINICA IN THE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. IT’S TIME FOR LIAT TO ASK WHERE ARE THE DOMINICANS PASSENGERS.

I wonder if residents of this community has a modern library for at their disposal? Do they have an urgent care facility to take care of their medical needs? Are there plans to entice any new ventures to help create employment?
And I can go on and on until the break of dawn.

EC$150,000 for small business. I mean people what nonsense is this? In 2017 what the hell can EC$150,000 really do for small businesses? I mean unless it is just one (1) business maybe two (2) that are benefiting. That is a slap in the face. they might as well have said we will do a comprehensive project in the village that will spur commerce or lower the cost of living for the people like a small solar farm. where a number of needy people wont pay for electricity. What a bloody waste. Not a waste, they have began buying votes. And at the end of the day nothing will change in the country. that money will go to waste and will never be accounted for. Village council heads will give who they want only and keep some for themself. I would challenge every village community council to submit viable proposals for community development. Otherwise no money. It not just so we dishing out money. One minute Ministers crying about how we are poor and we dont have money, But this is just a case.

Because in the next breath they does like to announce how much money they basically giving away. The paper trail was catching up to them so now they have to start getting rid of it. We still dont know how much the DLP has collected in CBI over the past 15 years. All we know is all of a sudden they can find it in all holes. We even getting an international airport i heard. But dont worry, it is from inside they will crumble. Police already on their case. Next is teachers then after is firemen. then last but not least the rest of the public sector. Meanwhile keep boasting about how much money all you giving this place and that place, and dont concentrate on the well being of the people, only your image. self praise is no praise. Dont exalt yourselves.

No ma’am – we are not eating everything. Unlike Sheep like you – We are considering them , analyzing them, we are researching them. However – the proof and evidence is there. But you will not see , nor look because your big square head is in the sand. But let us inform you – Linton and Q95fm told us about the Bin bobool, the land transfer fees , the Layou River Hotel mess, Passport mess, Rapist ministers and many more , and separate and apart from of Q95fm and Linton doings or actions, the truth was revealed and is being revealed. Now everything is funded by CBI money., absolutely no sustained economic development programs for the country – only hand outs. Yes- we are aware that folks like you are happy for hand outs, but there are still many of us who take pride in working for what we want instead of relying on manipulators to feed us. Obama out!!!!!!!!

I think even an apparent fool like you would know that elections are “constitutionally due” at some time but can be called earlier.

What you need to do is be prepared to VOTE OUT that waste of time government

Dominica is being run like private island. The way monies are being spent its like Pablo Escobar has been reincarnated.
While seen as an enemy of the United States and Colombian governments, Escobar was a hero to many in Medellín (especially the poor people). He was a natural at public relations, and he worked to create goodwill among the poor of Colombia. A lifelong sports fan, he was credited with building football fields and multi-sports courts, as well as sponsoring children’s football teams.[14] Escobar was also responsible for the construction of many hospitals, schools, and churches in western Colombia, which gained him popularity inside the local Roman Catholic Church- Wikiedia.

I tell you something is up ….. ALL THIS MONEY, WHERE IS IS COMING FROM & WHY DOES IT SEEM THERE’S A DANGEROUS NEED TO SPEND THIS MONEY ASAP????

HONESTLY PEOPLE…. what’s going on…where is Skerrit getting all this money and OH MY GOD WHY IS HE IN SUCH A BIG HURRY TO SPEND IT ALL.

Sadly these moneys are being spent and not being invested in developing a manufacturing sector on the island, which would allow for employment, its not going towards increase tourism marketing efforts.. its not going to anything substantial that would in turn boost the economy and GDP.

Remember give a man a fish he will eat for a day or two but teach him to fish and he will eat for life. AFTER ALL THIS MONEY IS GONE WHAT NEXT? WHERE DOES THAT LEAVE US…. still unemployed, still dependent on handouts, still depending on SKERRIT!!!
