The Japanese Government will be providing grant assistance to two organizations in Dominica.
On Friday 14th March, 2014 the Dominica Association of People with Disabilities (DAPD) will receive a grant of up to US$36,254 from the Government of Japan for the construction of a dormitory, which will be used for persons with disabilities in Dominica.
In addition, the Dominica Solid Waste Management Corporation (DSWMC) will also be handed over grant assistance for the Grass-roots Human Security Project (GGP) entitled “The Project for Procurement of Compactor Truck in Dominica”
The Dominica Solid Waste Management Corporation received a grant of US$70,425 from the Government of Japan which was used for the procurement of a compactor truck to collect recyclable waste.
Through this project, the Corporation will be able to expand the area to collect recyclable waste.
The Government of Japan welcomes further opportunities to work with the Government and the people of the Commonwealth of Dominica, all with a view to strengthening the bonds of friendship and mutual understanding which exist between the two countries, especially as we celebrate Japan-CARICOM Friendship Year 2014, according to a release from the embassy of Japan.
The Government of Japan, I thank you for your kindness and generosity and may you continue to do good for Dominica! Also may the good Lord guide, direct and protect the Japanese Government and our own!
We appreciate assistance from a civilized government. You will notice that Japan’s assistance has no “hanky spanky” with it. Japan supports ‘clean’ projects. The process for receiving these grants are transparent and is done in a professional way. We thank the government and people of Japan for being a model democracy and remaining a strong collaborator with people of the free world.
That’s an insult….. If it were an individual making this donation that would be understandable, but a huge economy like Japan>>>>>> Dominica should no “Thank You”….
I do understand the way you feel. Have Dominicans ever wonder the amount of money they have poured into the Japanese economy by the amount of cars they have purchased from Japan over decades, just something to think about, but then there is a saying be thankful for small things.
A million thanks to the Japanese government for your enormous financial assistance. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Awesome news for the physically disabled! Thanks to the Japanese for their generosity.
Thank you to the Japanese Government.
