DID I HEAR A LAYBATOURISMEXPERT RUN SOME CRAP ABOUT PASSENGER TO CREW RATIO?
Royal Caribbean has now taken delivery of this 16 deck, 225,282 ton floating city which features 2,700 staterooms and can carry 5,400 guests. Now officially called “Oasis of the Seas”,her home port IS Fort Lauderdale, Florida,
Crew: 2,165 crew (from over 71 countries)
Passengers: 5,400 guests (double occupancy); 6,296 guests total
This Brilliant a ship with low capacity but high spending power.
Now all that is left is to treat them well and give them things to buy.
This is the type of oppotunity we need to take advantage off to increase the amount of money the tourism spend on Dominica.
Unfortunately we do not have the things in place that would allow them to spend.
Cruise ship season open and we have only seen one ship so far.
This one coming with 158 people to sit on their deck and watch the ‘CITY’. When de next one ah come?
Ian and dem just went to FCCA. Who de hell goes to FCCA in September and expect to secure cruise ship calls for October of that same year….? Seriously?
We really need to start operating this country as a business… Ian you already got your third warning you know what to do… Jah Guide
It is a Luxury cruise line, hence the crew to passenger ratio. That’s what you get with luxury. Please every one play your part and help the people feel welcome.
well, actually the photo is NOT the cruise ship that the article is talking …It does carry the 150 guests.
Silver Seas Cruises Is a luxury Cruise line. That the reason for the ratio of Crew to guests.
Silver Seas Cruises is a luxury cruise line… big deal. I am almost certain if you check the stats, they spend the less on their calls, dem “luxury cruise lines”. Maybe a few Whale Watchers; dem people on air. We are not getting anything to talk about from them. We need to go back to the drawing board…Jah Guide
its looks big but a maximum of 158 passengers 117 crew members ok well thats bothing to be boasting about
I THINK ITS AN ERORE I DONT THINK IS 158 PASSENGERS FOR SUCH A HUGE SHIP.BUT NEVER MINE THE AMOUNT OF PASSENGERS ALL THAT NEED TO B DONE IS FOR EVERY ONE TO PLAY THEIR PART TO ENSURE THAT THE VISITORS FEEL WELCOME AND THEY ARE SAFE.
“carries a maximum capacity of 158 passengers, and 117 crew members” Is this correct? Something not right here!
I don’t think that picture is their ship. Silver Seas is an upper class ship without many passengers and a smaller ship.
carries a maximum capacity of 158 passengers, and 117 crew members.
158 seems pretty low for the size of the crew
one call for the entire season with 198 passengers am sorry is nothing to boast about.
we need to stop accept minimum effort from our leaders and call is success. we all know that this passengers are going to remain on the ship anyway.
