O.D. Brisbane offers Green Technology

Local company O.D. Brisbane and L.A. Dupigny have teamed up with Grensol in Grenada to offer Dominicans what they describe as “an alternate source of energy.”

According to Chairman of O. D. Brisbane, Jerry Brisbane, the company is expanding its business model in Dominica to include “Green Technology” and has begun operations of “Brisol.”

Brisbane told a press conference, that Brisol is a division that will supply consultations on “acquisition and installation of solar electric technology and alternative energy sources to the Dominican public from January 2012.”

“The advantage of a Brisol solution will be that O. D. Brisbane & Sons has already installed a large grid connected photovoltaic system at its premises in Canefield which will be available for viewing by potential clients making the solutions tangible to the general public,” Brisbane said.

He explained further, that as part of the company’s overall strategic planning they have been looking at ways to cut costs including energy cost.

“With that in mind, the company consulted and chose a regional partner “Grensol” from Grenada to supply and install a solar electric system which will supply part of Brisbane’s electric needs,” Brisbane stated.

He said Grensol  has installed systems throughout the Caribbean and has just completed the Brisbane installation.

“We have had discussions with DOMLEC and IRC and they are all happy at what we are doing and offering, we are confident of the product and looking forward to doing business with the many business places and households in Dominica all aimed at them saving energy cost over the next few years,” he noted.

Domelec has held the monopoly on supplying electrical energy to Dominica from the time I was born. Domlec has made millions of profit on the backs of poor Dominicans. The cost of electricity is ridiculously high.Once your reaches a certain figure it never goes down do matter what one tries, it remains up there. That’s Domlec method of making high profits, which they used to lavishly pay their administrators.this is very unfair. Kudos to Jerry Brisbane and the others who initiatives are so good and simple, making available to the Dominican public cheap and reliable sources of energy. Thus Reducing the weight of the dragon named Domlec of the backs of poor Dominicans. 8-O

There are people on Island who have gone Solar and wind backup power for nightime use for many years.I have installed it for 15 years and all that was changed was my batteries from flooded to Gel types for less maintanance. So the technology is worth it by all means.GO GREEN

    Jerry,
Folks like yourself need to rebuild the DFP, its the only medium for a way forward and job creation and transparency. Great job, now we can clearly promote Dominica as the nature island.

But Pundit….DFP had a 15 yr stint that didn’t produce, a failure. The current fellas cannot create jobs (that’s proven)….UWP? well I don’t know, they are a lot of talk. Something new, a new name, new people like Jerry, Thompson, Christian, Chrispin and a mix of DFP/UWP/DLP with a goal to create jobs, everything else will fall in place when people are working.

No more hundred millions passing thru D/a like a strainer and not a job created. That’s what I think you trying to say.

I like the idea. I would encourage Mr. Brisbane to also offer small wind turbines to also generate energy and offset the rising energy cost to consumers on a daily basis.

Mr Jerry if you read this how can we contact you online so that we can see some of the products? or interract with you and your company. and secondly do you see the geothermal potential offering cheaper energy in the near future almost making the investment into that alternative source not a very viable option- just some of the questions I have – I am investing and starting a building soon and one of the concepts in the design is to keep it green and energy efficient. So please provide contact details may not always be available to drop in by you so use the technology.

    Thanks

There coems a time when we all will make up to th ereality that we all cannot be politicians seeking to developm Dominica in government. Jerry welcome out of retirement and get going with what you can do best to help Dominica develop. You are no Roosevelt Skerrit. You are from the business class and stay there. make your money and at the same time help Dominica develop. That is where you belong. As you and others have intimated, politics is too dirty for you all to be involved.
