The Discover Dominica Authority has announced that six hotels on the island recently earned recognition on the prestigious 2013 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards.
Dominica is known as the Nature Island and is a haven for adventure travelers. Its green rugged mountains, lush rainforests and rushing rivers serve as a magnet for nature lovers.
“Dominica’s wonderfully rich community of accommodations offers something for everyone at every service level and budget,” explained Colin Piper, director of tourism. “We are extremely proud of this recognition from our valued visitors.”
The six award-winning hotels include the following recognition:
Secret Bay took the top spot for “Top 25 Small Hotels in the Caribbean,” and the No.3 spot for “Top 25 Hotels for Service in the Caribbean.” The hotel is described as, “The perfect spot to relax, unwind and spend a special vacation with someone you love! Every attention has been given to aesthetics, comfort and modern conveniences. They make you feel special and pampered.”
Beau Rive took the No. 5 spot for “Top 25 Small Hotels in the Caribbean,” and the No.17 spot for “Top 25 Hotels for Service in the Caribbean.” Beau Rive offers dramatic views of Anse Francais and Wakaman Point.
Dominica’s Jungle Bay Resort & Spa was recognized as No. 13 on the “Top 25 Hotels in the Caribbean.” The award-winning resort is one of the Caribbean’s top adventure eco-resorts offering rustic luxury, wellness, spa and retreat experiences.
Rosalie Bay Resort was recognized at the No. 10 spot on the “Top 25 Small Hotels in the Caribbean.” The resort is an eco-luxury wellness retreat nestled at the foothills of Morne Trois Pitons where the Rosalie River meets the Atlantic Ocean.
Pagua Bay House, located in Marigot, was recognized at No. 2 for “Top 25 Bargain Hotels in the Caribbean” and No. 24 for the “Top 25 Hotels for Service in the Caribbean.” Travelers said, “There are some trips that fade quickly from your memory and then there are others that stay with you forever. Pagua Bay House and Dominica are definitely in that latter category.”
Manicou River Resort came in at No. 13 for “Top 25 Bargain Hotels in the Caribbean.” The unique resort features treehouse lodges perched 400 feet high up on the foothills of Morne Aux Diables, offering panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and Cabrits National Park.

Justly deserved
Very encouraging news but where are our premier Roseau hotels like Fort Young, Garraway and Anchorage in this? Seems you have to go into the countryside to find quality and service.
Wonderful news!!! Thanks to all for their hard work
I believe that that is the future of Dominican hotels. Small but well organized with top class services!!! Keep on going to higher heights guys!!! God bless Dominica!!!
hats off to the manager and staff of beau rive.
Great! Way to go, DA!
this is good news for a change but, there is a lot more on Dominica then just these hotels. Check out the specialty accomadation on trip adviser and you will find any amount of surprising places to stay. I’m sure I read that Rosalie Bay had gone into liquidation.
Great news for once! Funny that news as such don’t highlight much comments but if it was something negative it would.
thats just to let you see my Dominican people dont know what thay want but thank GOD for my sweeet Dominica and am out of D/A now but i know God have to help me move back to d/a soon
Good news but I thought Rosalie bay shut down??
Correct me if I’m wrong someone
you are wrong!
HEAVEN ON EARTH DOMINICA IS BLESS BUT SOME OFF US WANT TO SPOIL THIS RICH AND BLESS COUNTRY ”’
By giving the hotels awards?
Brilliant news well done everyone involved this is fantastic for Dominica!
i am happy to hear such good news. thee are still so many caribbean people, from Jamaica, Haiti that i have met, and they do not know about Dominica. when the young man from jamaica in the usa, told me that he did not know, where dominica was. I wondered what social studies they teach at the schools in jamaica??? they taught me at school about Jamaica. (ie in Dominica)
Maybe that’s because they confuse sociology with geography??
Wowwwwwww! That’s the result of hard work.
I love hearing this good good news. Thanks to the travelers who recommended these accommodations, and to all those who are tirelessly working to ensure this comfort and service, hats off to you all. Keep up the wonderful work!
Great news indeed for my lovely Island Dominica.
