Cathy Aubrey has been named most outstanding student at Lead Institute in the 2011 CXC Associate Degree Programme.
Ms Aubrey, a Business Studies major, topped the May/June 2011 CAPE Examinations, achieving 100% passes in her very first sitting of the CAPE Examinations. Aubrey obtained passes in Economics Unit 1, and Business Management Units 1 and 2, amassing a total of 30 credits towards her Associate Degree.
The Lead Institute first year student said she was “happy and elated” that she was successful at the exams but that it took a lot of hard work.
“All the praise, glory and honour belong to God. He has helped me accomplish this milestone,” she said. “I’m really looking forward to completing my degree.”
In recognition of her outstanding achievements, Lead Institute will award Ms. Aubrey with a full tuition scholarship for the 2011/2012 Academic Year.
“This is the first group of candidates in our Associate Degree programme to take the exams and we are proud of all of them but we just wanted to reward the top performance in the hope of inspiring all our current and prospective students to put out their very best effort” says David Vital, Programme Coordinator at Lead Institute.
A total of eight Lead Institute candidates sat the Business Management Unit 2 Exams securing an 88% pass rate. Nine students also sat the Business Management Unit 1 Exams obtaining a 78% pass rate.
More than thirty students are expected to register with Lead Institute in its Business and Humanities Associate Degree programs for the 2011/2012 academic year which is scheduled to begin in September.
