Jno Baptiste joins regional young people on the CRYC executive
Jno Baptiste forms part of the new CRYC executive

Dominican, Kerahia Jno Baptiste, is part of the new executive of the Caribbean Regional Youth Council (CRYC) for the 2015-2017 term.

The new members of the executive were elected virtually on September 19, 2015, but officially assumed office on January 1st, 2016, after a transition period of three months, during which time, the outgoing executive members formally introduced the incoming executive to the organization and its operational procedures.

As a board member, Jno Baptiste is in charge of information and communication at CRYC.

The organization held its second General Assembly in Kingston, Jamaica from the 28th- 30th September, 2015, preceding its first regional partnership with the SALISES 50/50 Youth Cluster of the University of the West Indies and coinciding with Caribbean Youth day.

The organization said its first order of business was a request for the submission of applications from persons interested in serving on individual sub-committees. These include committees to spearhead undertakings relating to Members & Partnership, Policy & Advocacy, Training & Development, Information & Communication and Resource Mobilization.

Youth around the region interested in serving on any of the sub-committees can find application forms on the website of the Caribbean Regional Youth Council at caryc.org and submitted to [email protected].

CRYC said the new executive looks forward to a successful term in furthering the youth agenda throughout the region.

The new executive members are as follows:

Tijani Christian, Jamaica: Chairman
Nackadian Jones, Jamaica: Vice Chair, Members & Partnership
Firhaana Bulbulia, Barbados: Vice Chair, Policy & Advocacy
Camara Lee, St. Kitts & Nevis: Board Member, Training &Development
Kerahia Jno Baptiste, Dominica: Board Member, Information & Communication
Kezia Campbell, Guyana: Vice Chair, Resource Mobilization

CRYC is the Collective voice of National Youth Councils and represents the voice of youth for the Caribbean. Further, we are a strategic youth governance and advocacy movement with one voice working towards regional representation, integration and co-operation as a platform for youth development.

    Congratulations on your appointment.
You are the voice for youths. Could you inform us of what exactly “your voice” does for the Caribbean youths.
These days more youths are getting into trouble. They need guidance and counseling to assist them to stay away from bad company and trouble. How can your organization help them to achieve that and maintain it?
