The Dominica State College (DSC) is getting set to introduce a new Associates programme in September.
The Public Administration Program will be offered in the evening to make allowance for learners who have full-time employment are cannot attend regular day-time classes.
Administrative Assistant with the Department for Continuing Education, Daisy Rodney, said the DSC is committed to improving the quality of life the members of the communities it serves.
“The program is mainly geared towards those who are in the employment market and people who have experience in public administration. Once you have more than three years in that sector you can apply,” she explained.
Rodney also indicated that the new programme applies for persons who are not administrative assistants but have English, Maths and Social skills.
“We feel that a lot of persons would like to get some sort of qualifications while on the job and it’s always difficult to do so while they are working because they don’t want to leave their job. So they can afforded course and still maintain their position…” she said.
The courses will be offered from 5 – 8pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Interested persons are asked to register at the Stockfarm or Bath Estate campuses.
What’s the cost please?
good
When is the DSC going to introduce Culinary Arts classes, if ever.
Good Idea DSC. We also need to decentralize the college so that it can better and more efficiently serve the educational needs of the population, we need the DSC somewhere in the north to serve the nearby environs. This will also create direct and indirect employment. Invest with the future in mind.
That’s great Dominica! Way to go!
