Convent High School graduate (Class of 2012) and recent Psychology student of the Dominica State College, Philadelphia Cadette, has been accepted to Andrews University in Berrien Spring Michigan under a US$40,000.00 Andrews Partnership Scholarship.

The Andrews Partnership Scholarships (APS) are merit based scholarships awarded for incoming main campus first-year freshmen.

The APS is based on the addition of SAT/ ACT critical reading and mathematical scores (writing score not included).  Ms. Cadette was awarded the scholarship based on her SAT scores. She sat the exam in May in Barbados where she presently resides with her family.

In 2012 Cadette obtained six Ones and three Twos at the CXC Exams.

Students with 24 or less previous college semester credits completed after high school graduation can receive this scholarship for up to 10 semesters toward their first undergraduate degree.

Apart from Andrews Partnership Scholarship Cadette’s course of studies is covered by special Education Grant.

Cadette will be pursuing a four year Bachelors degree in Psychology, with a minor in Business administration.

She said she aspires thereafter to pursue a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management and/or International Relations with her eyes set on Harvard, Princeton or Andrews University School of Graduate Studies and Research.

Cadette is the daughter of former director of Telecommunications, Sylvester Cadette and Lilia Cadette, former Core Management personnel of SAT and employee of MARPIN Telecoms, and Digicel.

I am a bit confused.

What then is her career goal?
