Kimara Burton is this year’s Valedictorian of the North East Comprehensive High School
Burton, who is from the Kalinago Territory, along with 62 other students said farewell to the school during its graduation last Friday. The 16-year-old got the prizes for her performance in Business Studies.
In her speech delivered at the graduation she appealed to her peers to be ambitious.
The school’s Student of the Year is Liz Rolle from Marigot.
Feature speaker at the ceremony Dr. Griffin Benjamin called on the graduates to stay away from drugs.

I am expressing congratulations to my students for a job well done. To Kimara you deserved it you have been very consistent throughout. You are always ready to try and I always admire that quality in you. Keep aspiring. To her parents you must be commended for your commitment, you always ensured that you daughter had whatever was needed to get the job done. Special mention must be made of her dad who always fined the time to ensure that she was always present at extra class and would ensure that he waited for her no matter what time the class over, the world needs more fathers like you.
To Liz, I was always hopeful that you would have been awarded this position. You deserved it, you are very strong headed student who is also well focused. Keep up the good work. Attitude is everything.

ITSS was the first school who had their graduation ceremony and nothing was said on DNO the concentration is only on roseau schools and the out-districts are not recognized.wolle cor sor
