Over 20 students who received their White Coat at the All Saints University School of Medicine have been challenged to seek ‘higher powers’ if they are to be successful in their career.
That advice came from valedictorian, Effiong Ndausung Udongwo, at the 21st White Coat ceremony held at the school on Saturday.
“God is the first, God is the last, he is the biggest, he is the greatest, he is the strongest, he holds the key to unlocking every door,” he told his fellow students. “He owns the key to our future and our destiny lies in his hands …so if you want to make it, if you want to excel, if you want to progress and if you want to be the impact in your generation, the only thing I would prescribe for you is the God medicine. So if you must excel, I have to teach you how to be a victor and the way forward is God.”
Udongwo said further that the students must always remember All Saints, who got them thus far.
“A foolish man will climb up the wall and kick away the ladder that helped him climb,” he stated. “But a wise man will always hold to him everything that helped him move to the next level… let us not forget the institution that made us who we are, let us not forget our Alma Mater.”
Undongwo copped the Best Student Award and the First clinical Scholarship with a 4.0 GPA and 15 A’s.
The second Faculty Clinical Tertiary Scholarship Award went to Osara Malalasekara, with a 3.87 GPA.
Third John Fabien Clinical Scholarship Award went to Ravimali Kolonna with 3.73 GPA.
Meantime Dean of the school, Dr. John Klir, told the students that they are now equipped to move on to the next level in their medicinal training.
“This basic medical knowledge should help you to make smooth transition to the next level of training which is Clinical Medicine,” he said. “You will learn how to diagnose and manage different medical conditions of patients ranging from newly born to elderly. You will slowly become members of medical profession, the profession which is seen not only as a symbol of great knowledge but also based on highest ethical principles and compassion.”
Five Dominicans received white coats at the ceremony.
They are Juanita Currissa Ferreira, Nesa Vidal Wade, Verna Alfred, Elizabeth George and Josephine Christiana Francis.
A White Coat ceremony marks the transition by the All Saints students from the study of preclinical to clinical health sciences.

Its a pity this school is NOT accredited.
the school is accredited my dear
Dominican you think doctor ferreria would send his daughter to a school without accreditation. They are doing the same u s l m e exams like Ross. The school is a young institution its not fifty plus years. you haters must try to develop yourselves and stop bad talking the school Canadians, Nigerian,Englishmen, Pakistanis,Americans,Indians,Jamaicans,Trinidadians are all taking advantage of the school .Don’t just sit and talk fine out about the programs the school offer. A number of hospitals have given them accreditation they are moving forward with more affordable medical programs. all saints students a doing well in their steps exams

so keep that in mind
Hi there is an error with the names. Elizabeth George is not a Dominican. Its Kenrick Ray James that’s missing.. And the first and last name are mixed up. The first names stated are actually their second names as well as Vidal is the last name. Please correct.
congrats to all and especially the Five from Dominica. Keep it up Verna Alfred
Is that school even accredited????????
Nah man. Is juss mad Skerrit dat dere doing his own fing by allowing this school to operate in Dominica
Who cares about accreditation anyways?
Accreditation does not a good doctor make. They took the courses and as long as they are eligible to take the MSLE and they pass it with a good score, they have a chance at getting in on a hospital clinical rotation. However, it will be harder for them as I am not aware that this medical school has any affiliations with certain hospitals, as does Ross. Unless someone knows of some.
Yes the way to go Verna keep up the good work
Great Verna, my past student, and congrats to all the others who reached that milestone.
