Morne Jaune Primary School wins Eastern District Spelling Bee Competition

Alia Stephenson and Janiah Polydore of the Morne Jaune Primary School emerged winners of the South Eastern District of the Local Government Department Spelling Bee Competition among the four primary Schools in the District held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in observance of Local Government Month.

In second place were Iversha Fontaine and Martha Laronde of the Delices Primary School, third place were Daniel Pendenque and Ervince Lockhart of the Grand Fond Primary Schools while Jasnique Prosper and Tatiana Bethel of the Jones Beaupiere Primary School came in fourth place.

Each student received a supply of participatory prices and Certificates of participation. The trophy and gifts will be delivered at the schools closing ceremony at the end of the school year.

The South Eastern District Team of the Local Government Department extends sincere thanks to all of its sponsors and looks forward to continued participation and support from the schools in the district.

    Congratulations to each one of you! If you can converse, read, spell and write properly you are on your way to a higher education and eventually when you graduate a good, stable paying job. Keep up the scholastic effort and studies.
